But there is not a more national team than the Steelers. Lots of yellow towels in "America's Team's" stadium.
lots of transplants and bandwagon fans winning does that.... Yankees have a lot too... but when it gets tough the fans disappear
PENN STATE FOREVER
WE ARE! And we will always be...
Every time they pan to Jerry Jones, he is like "f***, 50% Steelers fans in my billion dollar home"
"Whoever’s trying to kill me isn’t getting the job done. But one day, I’m going to punch that f___r in the face."
Nah man... they have always been there. It was the same way back in the Maddox era.
Pshh. We might not make the playoffs. There are Steelers fans all over, because most moved away when the steel plants shut down. When the population shifted, we spread out. There are steelers bars in FL, California, all over... Those aren't bandwagon folks.
LOL, I thought the same thing. I love it.
Lol with a Philly fan calling anyone a bandwagon fan. That town sells out its own team in a heartbeat. Listen to 610 and hear the fans getting on and off the bandwagon every year
The north east is good for pro football so PITT always will have fans.... and listen to Pittsburgh sports radio... half the fans want Tomlin fired every week win or lose.... Eagles fans packed Tampa last week...
You can call Philadelphia a lot of things, but a bandwagon city is not one of them.
I work the Philly area and bandwagon is what the whole town is. If team is doing great they all love them as soon as they look bad they lose all support. Listen to 610 or any of the other stations.
False. Steel mills shut down in the 70s & 80s. City's population almost halved as families moved away. We're all over the nation now.
And LOL at a Philly fan saying "but when it gets tough the fans disappear"
"Joe Paterno's the greatest college football coach ever" -Urban Meyer cleveland.com/osu/index.ssf/2012/01/urban_meyer_calls_joe_paterno.html
Hahaha ok. Don't be bitter cause your team is a hot mess and just paid a guy you're probably gonna cut 40 mil or whatever his guaranteed $ was. Your last statement couldn't be less true.
Tickets were going for $10 a pop. Packing Jac or Tpa is no accomplishment, especially if your from a big northern city.
I remember certain Phily fans on here throwing in the towel on the baseball season quite early.
Phillies lead the league in attendance... and how is saying transplants wrong??? You guys literally say people moved away.... which means transplants... hence they get a good road presence.... then they do have bandwagon fans... they do well.... that happens.... Sorry I do not respect a Texas native who is a Steeler fan
Fact is there were very few Steeler fans to be found until they started winning....I went to school in Western Pa 69-71. I guarantee you nobody talked about them....period.
Just because Philly fans are jerks doesn't automatically mean they can't be bandwagon fans. The Link was a ghost town for the last Eagles game.
Dominate The State
That is usually how sports work.
Plenty of Steelers fans everywhere. Success does that but the area breeds loyalty. The Browns have an equally strong fanbase although they have had questionable leadership. Love my Steelers.
THIS +1. Kennetaw, you know what's up. I said the same thing lol We are all over the nation now because of migration.
The same people that yell "FIRE ANDY REID!" one week don't deserve to call anyone a bandwagon fan the next.
Ben needs to come out... looked concussed... and cheering for a coach to be fired is different than PITT fans calling in every day non stop to fire Tomlin??
You also haven't dealt with Andy Reid for the past 10+ years either, haha.
The only thing I've gotten from this thread is that people truly have no idea what there talking about when they use the term "bandwagon fan". Because so far, no one has used it correctly.
