Thanks for the info. Seems they don't have the same love for Mc Allen as other sites.
How does ESPN's services compare to 247, Rivals, Scout etc. as far as accuracy goes?
In my head, the following guys are "four star" football players:
The first two are top 100 IMO, and O'Connor very well could be. Want to see his senior film first. Amazing the talent we have at QB and WR between last year and this year.
“We’re doing things we couldn’t imagine,” says safety Stephen Obeng-Agyapong. “But we’re doing them together.”
Most people rank them 4th in that group. From what I've heard from people, Rivals or 247 are viewed the best, then Scout, then ESPN. Although 247's composite would likely be the best source overall.
Oh man, I would put Scout last........but that's just me.
For our class, this year. I agree with ESPN's quite a bit more than usual Though the Marcus Allen ranking bugs me quite a bit on them. For 247 it is probably the Reeder ranking.
That's more like it for Reeder.
Yeah, I just think from reading a bunch of opinions that ESPN would be 4th for more people than any of the other sites.
I would agree with this. I used to love checking their ratings, but they are slower and less accurate than ever. All too often they don't even have correct information in their profiles and gobs of guys unranked. Then they slap on some random ranking if they commit and never change it. Rivals is slower than 247, but more thought is put into it. ESPN has improved. 247 took Rivals best, some of Scouts good ones, and dedicated to have it fluid and accurate. They are the best, IMO.
Reeder finally gets a ranking he deserves. They are way off on Marcus Allen though and Mark Allen is low at 73.
ESPN does well with QBs IMO, other than that 24/7 is it

Allen is a 5-7 running back who tore his ACL. I can see why someone would be concerned about him.
I like him a lot, but I understand why he'd be ranked like that.

That's about where he is ranked here when you adust their numbering system to 247's. Now 247 has him ranked higher at RB (#39) and the composite does too (#57). That said, I think ESPN is closer than 247 here.
Edit: Ooops I didn't think 247 had him as an 87 overall, thought he was an 83 or 85. I think that's a bit too high.

Ratings and star counts are subjective. Nothing to get worked up about at all.
Yes because I was worked up. It was an opinioned answer to a conversation.
Yea I guess I can see that, but still I find it hard to believe there are over 100 RBs better than him. I'm high on Allen, think he'll be a very good college RB, but his size hurts him because these kids are evaluated on NFL potential.

WE ARE! And we will always be...
And here's rmj to ruin my thread.
Can't this be our thread?
Yeah, I ruined it. It will never be the same. Oh no!
Sure, its now our thread buddy.
I actually agree with those ratings. I woukd have Marc. Allen rated a bit higher, probably Scott too, but those are solid ratings. Glad to see Reeder get some love.
I like Rivals rankings the best, personally. Just what I've been use to as well & what I agree with the most.
