Terrible fiscal decision.
If we leave the B1G, we need to go to a conference that gives us money. We're not big enough to support our own network, so who would show us when we play Buffalo?

Why should we have to go to class if we came here to play FOOTBALL, we ain't come to play SCHOOL, classes are POINTLESS
They would show an independent team's opening week games on national television, when they are banned from postseason play and have a game with no conference implications? No they wouldn't.
Yes they would.
We are going to the ACC when ND goes full time. Mark my words
PSU will never leave the B1G.. The amount of money that cycles around through research, TV revenue etc. is immense. Do I hate the B1G? Hell yes. But I don't see PSU leaving anytime soon? No.

Good point. We just gotta get our own national network then.
Unfortunately, how we're treated on the football field has ZERO effect on decisions made WRT conference affiliation.
Even though the B1G hates us, they pay us more $$$ than any other conference is willing or able to.
Texas tried that and it failed miserably.
Gotta be attached to a conference, just not this one.
So we're in bitching about this again. Awesome.
one thousand one.....one thousand two..... Nope....still think Notre Lame dodges us....
Let's see, they have only SCHEDULED tOSU twice since 1946...even though we are neighboring states, not a long haul, could probably walk if you had to....
They played us a few years ago.
I hope that is the case. I'm not optimistic however.
OSU has been awful about scheduling quality opponents until very, very recently.
They played a few good teams the past decade OOC, but not many. I'm pretty positive the issue with OSU-ND is just as much OSU's fault as it is ND's.
I actually agree with this, I don't think it's a conspiracy against PSU per se, I think the B1G knows it sucks and wants to try and help out the few decent teams that are bowl eligible. Just look at MSU last week, they got screwed too.
Dominate The State
Well, at least they haven't beaten us for over 65 years....lol....
I think the OOC scheduling goes with the toughness of the conference...when the conference overall is down, you see AD's schedule better OOC games...
But, with that said, tOSU has played home and home with Texas, USC, MIami, just in last 10 years, when Cal was scheduled (8 years ago) they weren't bad.....Who knows how good someone is going to be when the game actually comes around...hell, we just scheduled OOC games for 2020-2023....the kids playing in those games are 7-10 years old right now....
One good thing Gene Smith is doing right now is trying to get away from playing the MAC schools as it will be detrimental when the 4 teams are chosed for playoffs....Not that he's going to replace them with Alabama, but at least schedule a BCS school....it does show better in SOS at end of the year...might be the difference in getting that 4th spot in playoff with a 1 loss team.....
