Just curious as to what you guys think about referring to Bill O'Brien. I know before the season started that he said all the right things and "almost" everyone "eventually" agreed that we hired the right guy and that there was no one else they would rather lead us through these times of sanction. But after five games and real signs of progress, I feel its time to lose the multitude of abbreviated forms of his name. I know some will say that it's too soon or that he hasn't won enough games yet, but that's not really fair to compare him to his legendary predecessor. Yes, I know he's learning every week along with the players, but I think he's done enough to prove that he has us on the right path and deserves some credit. So, in the meantime.... instead of Bill O'Brien, B.O.B, O'B, or whatever your personal favorite is, how about we just call him COACH? Thanks in advance for your consideration.
I prefer Bill or OB.
I don't think we should be referring to anyone as "Coach" right now.....
Follow me on Twitter @rayraycotto
His name is Bill O'Brien, why wouldn't we call him his name?
i like bob, bill obrien is annoying to type out, my fingers prefer bob
We didn't call Joe Paterno "coach," we called him Joe or JoePa. He who must not be named was called "coach." I personally like BOB.. Sometimes I actually mistakenly call him Bob, as if that were his real name. The point is, 95% of the people on this board call him BOB, so let's not change it.
This one made me LOL. Very nice. +1
+1 we voted on it.
He has said that his nickname has been OB.
I like OB.
OB wan kenobi is my vote.
I like OB. will always hate the nickname Bob. because its a name not a nick name. We called joe joepa. we diddnt call him joshpa or larrypa or stevepa or whatever. The guys name is bill but his super cool nick name is BOB. I will never call him that. I like Ob
I think everyone should call him what they want and something will eventually stick. Media often tries to dictate names of players and coaches also and it never works. Just like you making the request will not work. Time is the only solution to your request.
Thanks for the input guys. Sorry I had a bad day at work yesterday, which was immediately followed by numerous beverages. I was feeling a little sentimental afterwards. Not sure why I felt the need to post that, especially when I usually call him BOB. I sure don't recover from a night of drinking like I used to. Getting old sucks!
Call him what you want to and let others do the same. It's an easy enough thing to do.

I use Coach OB in my posts.
He's BOB to me!
Why go here again?
It's a common abbreviation. Nc state fans call Tom O' Brien TOB. I don't see the problem.
How bout we just call him Bolden so i can go back to talking about that nameriver everyday.
for me and my house we shall call him BOB...
If I could type REFRESHING more easily and have it understood as a reference to B'OB I would use that. I don't mean that as any disrespect to JoePa and his legacy which I hold in the highest of revereance..(FU Emmert, Freeh, SneakyPete et al), but the change has been refreshing with the stench of JS (may he be sentenced to go straight to Hell on Tuesday) that the past 12 months have brought to Happy Valley. Now, beat the hell outta Northwestern and keep this wave going!!!!

WE ARE and ALWAYS will be...... RIP JVP
Who's this "bob" of which you speak? Is that short for "Robert" somebody?
People from other sites probably come on here and think that we don't know our own coaches first name. I always thought that was a peculiar way to refer to him. (Yes, I know that BOB is short for "B"ill "O""B"rien). Why not just call him "Bill"?
When the MB takes over the White House, then and only then, will anyone be forced to do and say what they tell you and it's happening right under everyone's noses.
Isn't his proper name William?? WOB better than BOB?? I think his friends and Pats players called him Billy, right? So maybe we call him Billy O'Goat when we lose?? Eh, let's keep BOB
