Hale gets a putback for Purdue. Marshall pulls up for three at buzzer -- no good.
25-24 Penn State at half. Lions at 32 percent; Boilers at 36 percent.
Sasa and Hammons are leading scorers with six points each.

I honestly don't think it's coaching. We just plain suck shooting!
October 12, 2013. PSU 43 - UM 40 (4 OT). Unfortunately this fan wasn't around long enough to see it!
Classic Penn State highlights: http://www.youtube.com/user/vslice02
That has nothing do with it. With a 3 sec differential between game and shot clock, we can essentially hold the ball for last shot.
Instead we jack up one with 16 secs. left and Purdue runs down and converts a relatively easy shot.
Considering we just called time-out and it was clearly a designed play, I would say it is coaching. The fact that we suck at shooing, just makes the decision that more curious.
Not too bad of a first half for the Nittany Lions. Hopefully they can score some points in the second half.
"DOMINATE the state" - James Franklin 1/11/14
For as little scoring as there's been the defensive numbers are weird: Three turnovers for Penn State, four for Purdue. One steal for Lions, NONE for Boilers. Three blocks for Purdue, none for Penn State.
Lions 2-of-10 from three. Purdue 0-of-8.
Graham gets the second-half start for Sasa, who had three fouls.
Newbill took only two shots in first half. He'll need to get more involved.
No one stops Ronnie Johnson in transition and he takes it all the way, plus foul from Marshall.
Lane violation by Hammons wipes out free throw. 29-26 Purdue. Lions have missed first four shots of half.
Purdue doesn't exactly have what you'd call a high-octane transition game but they've used it to open the second half on a 7-1 run.
31-26, 16:24 left.
19-5 run for a crappy Purdue team on our home floor. Attitude! These guys have quit.
Taking the term "pathetic" to new levels. It's just tough watching these guys suck so bad.
Watching these guys play what they call basketball is just painful. They all play so stiff, and don't react natural. It's like they are all just going through the motions. They don't rebound, terrible shooting and if someone would just drive the lane just one time maybe it would wake this team up!
Newbill gets a transition hoop of his own.
Lions with one field goal in 5+ minutes of half.
Travis scores on a drive and it's 31-31, 13:55 left.
Crowd perks up a bit.
We are so much better with Sasa on the floor.
I can't even believe I typed that, but it is true.
Sasa gets his fourth foul with 13 min left and will head to the bench.
Newbill transition drive ties it again at 33-33.
Terone Johnson floats it over Travis and it's 35-33, 12:25 left.
Hate to see him pick up his 4th foul, b/c Sasa's been a factor this entire game, both on O and D!
Ronnie Johnson first player to double figures. Now with 12. He's 6-feet but all six of his field goals have come in the paint.
Marshall answers with jumper and it's 39-35 Purdue, 10:40 left.
I think I'm the curse, but I think some of you can share the blame.
If winning was easy even losers would do it.
Davis with a drive and hoop and foul for Purdue.
42-35, 9:50 left.
Whatever fresh-legs advantage Lions had in first half is rapidly dissolving.
I think I been sharing the misery here on 247 all B1G season long!
Graham joins Sasa with four fouls now with 9:23 left. Purdue in the bonus.
Their freshman center's ft shooting puts 1/2 of the best backcourt in the nation to shame.
Trading 1 for 2 ain't cutting it if we want to win.
Dj Newbill becomes a top scorer if he gets his free throw % up. 68% should be like 88%
