NW 1/2 from the strip. 56-33 with 7:30 to go.
October 12, 2013. PSU 43 - UM 40 (4 OT). Unfortunately this fan wasn't around long enough to see it!
Half way to Big Macs
Newbilll 2/2 from the stripe 56-35.
I hope Chambers runs these guys through wind sprints at the next practice until they puke. This is an embarrassing effort and is not acceptable.
Newbill with a layup a steal and another layup. 56-39.
Let me correct. Everyone except Newbill. He is giving his best effort.
l agree 100%. Especially at this point in the season. There's no excuse for it. We need to practice rebounding until we collapse.
We have a game to lose on Sunday. Not enough time for that stuff.
He should sit the starters the rest of this game and force them to watch this debacle. Might make them a little mad.
Another PSU turnover...+foul? Yep. DJ Newbill pix up another foul. 60-39 4:42 to go.
Remember when we were beating Indiana 3-2?............good times
Chambers looks like I feel!
Safe to say this is the ugliest loss of Chambers' brief Penn State tenure. Nothing going right for Penn State at the moment.
Travis just twisted a knee or an ankle while pulling in a rebound with no one around him. He'll limp off. Lions somehow retain possession.

Moral victory tonight would be we score 50+ and prevent NW from scoring 70.
65-48 2:36 to go
Our #10 looks like a Lady Lion!
Oh well! So much for moral victories. 70-48 1:20 left.
Final: Northwestern 70, Penn State 54.
Mercifully, this one is finally done! Egad!
Best part of the game was the announcer trying to pronounce "Akosa Maduegbunam"
That is my name on their tops and no one can tell me any different!!!!
We are officially the worst team in the conference.
WE ARE! And we will always be...
What an awful game.
We just aren't good. At anything.
Hopefully next season we can have an experienced bench with an improvement in talent.
Why should we have to go to class if we came here to play FOOTBALL, we ain't come to play SCHOOL, classes are POINTLESS

This time a year ago, we had two point guards and a combo guard on the roster who were expected to be here for this season. Plus we had another combo guard in DJ Newbill waiting to join them. That would have been four guys capable of playing the point - that would have been more than plenty. But Frazier went down with an injury and the other two transferred, leaving Newbill to shoulder the burden.. It's kind of hard to recover from end of season transfers and season ending injuries. You can't just wave a wand and suddenly have D1 level point guards magically appear. I'm not sure what you think Chambers should have done to prevent what happened.

If you think Glover and Newbill are "combo guards," who can eat significant amounts of time at point guard at this level, I don't know what to tell you.
Trey Lewis would have been a legitimate pg, but after he announced his transfer, Chambers pursued and signed Donovan Jack 2 months later. I like Jack's game, but if he had to do it again, I bet Chambers would pursue a point guard with that ship.
I also would hope Chambers could identify talent better than Akosa who is, well, not good.
Before this gets misunderstood, I like Chambers and think he is the right man for the job, but there was no back up plan if Frazier got injured. That is too important of a position to let that happen. At every other position you can mask flaws, but the point guard has too many responsibilities to hide out there. A lesson we will all have to painfully watch play out.
They would have been the third and fourth options at guard which is standard. With only 13 scholarships available you can't afford to commit FOUR ships at any one position. Two pure point guards and two part time point guards make perfect sense.
At the time Jack was offered a ship, the clear weakness of the team was, and still is, the front court. Handing another scholarship to a pure point guard at that time would have been absurd. You're doing nothing but Monday morning quarterbacking with your complaints.
When Jack committed we did not have 2 pure point guards and 2 part time point guards and we didn't have them for a couple months already. Who cares about when he was offered? Chambers offers and then disappears on a lot of guys as circumstances change just like all coaches.
We had one pure point guard and ZERO part time point guards. Newbill has never played pg before and only is now because one of the five players on the floor have to bring the ball up.
Handing out a ship to someone who would have been only our 2nd guy on the entire roster who could play pg is absurd? Got ya.
