Still about a half hour from tip but I thought I'd get it started with a few pre-game notes now.
Tim Frazier was wearing regular sneakers and standing to the side, dribbling a ball while his teammates went through pregame shootaround. His recovery is going well from what I'm told.
Watching the Cornhuskers warm up now and it's hard not to be drawn to Andre Almeida, the 6-foot-11, 314-pound center from Sao Paulo, Brazil by way of Arizona Western College. One of those guys that starts running and just seems to be propelled forward by his momentum (weight); he doesn't like to change directions if he doesn't have to.
Today is THON Hoops Day in the BJC. Proceeds from single-game student tickets will be donated to THON. A whole section of patients and families are behind one basket already.

pumped for today's game right now. Hard to explain other than I think we win (and we all know I am just a barrel of optimism around here).
Well, you've got the only team scoring fewer points in Big Ten play (48.8) than Penn State (54.0), and the Nittany Lions are coming off a 72-point performance against a good defensive team. If you're not optimistic about this one ... well, it means you've been fooled by Penn State before. Should be an interesting afternoon.
October 12, 2013. PSU 43 - UM 40 (4 OT). Unfortunately this fan wasn't around long enough to see it!
Sasa goes right at the big fella and gets a lefty hook to drop. 2-0 Lions.
Travis's two offensive rebounds get cashed in for pts. for a change.
There's a sentence I never thought I'd see.
5-0 after open three by Taylor.
Great block by Marshall - I actually thought he should have backed off since he just picked up a foul

That was Marshall's 10th block of the season. Only Jon Graham has more (16).
Newbill scores on a drive and it's 7-0, 15:40 to play.
A Jack sighting for the first time in a few games
Huskers finally on the board at 14:28 of the first half on two free throws from Talley. 7-2.
Six straight for Huskers makes it 7-6. Chambers giving the starters plenty of early breathers, which isn't exactly helping the offensive flow.
Jack, who we haven't seen in a while, gets whistled for pushing off. Lions haven't scored in nearly four minutes. Chambers wants a 30.
Jermaine Marshall missed an easy one and since then it has set off a bad string of events to lose the lead in rapid fashion
announcers "well designed building" - yeah except for basketball maybe
Taylor nearly has it poked away, gets it back and puts in a j to end a 10-0 Nebraska run.
Shields scores in transition though to make it 12-9.
Talley with mid-range jumper.
Newbill answers with drive and foul.
14-11 Nebraska, 9:33 left in first half.
2 fouls on Newbill
Colella ties it at 14-14 with three free throws. 8 and change to play in half.
Do we win a game in the B1G?
PENN STATE FOREVER
Marshall is playing terrible. Forcing his dribble into traffic too much
Penn State offense with Newbill on the floor today = not great.
Offense without Newbill on the floor (he has two fouls) = uhhhhhhhh ....
Gallegos hits second straight three. Taylor gets bunny to go. 20-16 Nebraska as we approach 5-min mark.
Taylor with sneaky strip of Almeida, who counters by blocking his shot without leaving his feet.
