"PSU a 3 to 4 win team" - New-era, September 2012
Black Shoes. Basic Blues. No Name. All Game.
Success without honor is an unseasoned dish; it will satisfy your hunger, but it won't taste good.
"On paper they have nothing to play for– no bowl games, rankings, or championships– yet they play like they have everything on the line."
So lets compare
Pitt $25 for 7 games $3.57 each
PSU $218 for 7 games $31.15 each
Pitt, stadium empty and the student section more empty
PSU, stadium full, student section sold out and some students hacked off that they didn't get online in time to buy before the sell out.
Is this a fair barometer of comparing the product on the field or just a commentary on who takes pride in their program and who doesn't?

My freshman year (1966, Joe's first season as HC), season tickets cost $8 ($2.00/game). Yes, they only had four home games out of ten games. I remember feeling ripped off because the first game (vs. Maryland) was before classes started, and I had to pay even though I couldn't attend. My, how things change! I believe 1966 was the first year students had to pay to attend games at Beaver Stadium.
I guess the cheap price sucked me in. I've had season tickets for over 40 years.
