Iowa just ran into a buzzsaw tonight. You're guys played lights out and the Hawkeyes didn't have an answer. Props to your team and O'Brien for rallying the team together, especially after the rocky start to the season. Good luck the rest of the way.
Appreciate it, Hawki. Good luck to you guys for the rest of the season.
One other thing, Matt McGloin earned my respect tonight. It may be a cliché, but he showed a lot of poise and moxy. He's a huge improvement over Bolden. #8 at receiver and your big freshman tight end were impressive as well. Throw in Belton and Mauti too. Essentially the whole team

Very classy....we appreciate the kind words. I also hope you all win out the rest of the year.
Thanks for the classy post. We'll see you guys again in 2015, I believe?
Best of luck the rest of the season.
"DOMINATE the state" - James Franklin 1/11/14
Considering iowas injuries i dont think they couldve doneuch more offensively.
Yes, 2015. See you then! Hopefully we'll make it a bit more interesting!
Losing Scherff and Donnal early, and with Weisman clearly banged up, it wasn't meant to be running the ball tonight. I'm actually more disappointed with the defense. I expected more from them, not so much from the offense.
So, you are making excuses for Iowa now? What a retard.
It wouldn't have made much of a difference. Iowa would've had more success offensively but it wouldn't change McGloin picking apart the defense. That was where PSU really won this game IMO.
If anyone's interested, Scherff is out for the year and Donnal is out "a while".
Sorry to hear that. Hate seeing linemen get rolled up.
Good luck the rest of the way.
New era is a huge troll is all.
Good to see someone from IA I can respect! Jk buddy, good luck the rest of the way.
Agree with you there. Best of luck the rest of the way.
Tough news, sorry to hear that.
Yeah, those injuries sucked. Hated seeing that. Hope they recover and get back sooner than is expected.
Hey McGloin did say it would be a high scoring game. It should be interesting with the sanctions. BOB seems capable of managing a reduced roster though.
Thanks for the post. Iowa has always been a class opponent. For years you folks kicked our butt, and I remember the days when it was vice versa b4 Ferentz came along.
Things are cyclical. Anyway, even though fictitious, Meredith Wilson's "The Music Man", is
my all time favorite movie.....guess this dates me, but the movie ceratinly is a classic! Iowa
was painted in gracious terms in the movie, and I have always thought positively about it as
a result. Who knows what it is really like, but I expect you have positive thoughts of it as well.
Thank you for your post.
Now, go find out which ass-clowns dressed up as Sandusky and deal with them.
F the NCAA
F the BOT
FWIW - it was posted on another board that someone from Iowa had tweeted that those dressed up like that were taken by campus police to the university president. Who knows if true (it must be - it was on the internet!).
pretty sick stuff. I thought that is something that would happen in Columbus, not Iowa City
Don't judge an entire fan base by what a few classless fans do. Overall, Iowa fans are very respectful.
I don't judge the Iowa fans like that. I was surprised something like that happened in Iowa. That is something I would think would happen in Columbus though.
My son and I went to the game and were treated extremely well by the majority of the Iowa fans both before and after the game. Many Iowa fans wished us well and several felt we were over punished by the NCAA. There were a few knuckleheads that called us Ped State and asked if we knew Sandusky. My guess those were the Iowa fans that never graduated. One idiot really pissed me off by commenting " Hey look and old man and a young boy from Penn State, guess they are still at it". My 14 year old son did not need to hear that drivel. They were a lot less chippy after the game. :>).
I have been to a lot of away games being base in Chicago for many years. I was shocked at how few Penn Staters were at the game. The Iowa fans do a good job showing up and filling the seats.
Ok about to get on the plane to return to Shanghai... Next year we are going to State College.
