Man, I'd love to have Clemson in the B1G, for personal reasons. But other than the fact that they're a Land Grant school, they aren't that compatible: not AAU members and contiguous borders. That said, if Clemson applied, I think the B1G brass would take a serious look at them. They remind me alot of PSU teams, you never know which team will show up. But they are having a terrific season and Dabo Swinney has done a great job of coaching them up.
I'm not sure where the likes of FSU, Clemson, VT, GT & Miami will end up, but these schools will not be victims of the ACC implosion. They will land on their feet somewhere.
October 12, 2013. PSU 43 - UM 40 (4 OT). Unfortunately this fan wasn't around long enough to see it!
They will be attractive to the ACC/BigXII survivor.
I hope the Big gives some consideration to adding a Florida team. MIami or FSU would work but Miami might have the academic edge (who woulda thunk it). Getting into Florida would help with recruiting that part of the country.
Would any of those schools want to foot the travel bills for non revenue sports??
Just what I was thinking....not just a bus trip for ladies softball...
Well, the old big east schools now ACC schools like BC, Cuse, Pitt, etc. were making the trip for years.
Maybe why they left? How long can an AD justify sending all those non revenue sports 1500 miles for an hour and 45 minute volleyball match?
At least they have good academics.
I can get to Miami more cheaply than I can Iowa City.
For PSU, few of our current roadtrips involve busses.
BTW - the schools can pay for travel outside of the midwest....they'll be sleeping on a mattress made of money.
Give me va tech.
That was in reference to Pitt and Syracuse while in the Big East....probably got tough to justify those trips for the non revenue sports to Miami when they were in the league. The ACC i'm sure gets them more $ than the Big East did, just as the BIG makes it worth it for UMD to leave the ACC.
They are still going to miami. Plus they go to fsu and atl. Probably costing more for travel than when they were inthe big east. They did not leave the big east to cut travel expenses.
Yes, but the bump in money from the Big East to the ACC is what I was talking about as to why they would make the move. Same as UMD to the BIG...you can add some expense when you're making a ton more. UMD is reported to make $100mil more by 2020 than they would in the ACC.....That's not chump change there. I'm betting we'll be hearing of a couple others reaching out to see if they can make the jump as well.
You are way off
Rutgers is in the Big Ten done deal.
Next will be North Carolina and GA Tech or VA.
I hope so, though I have to admit, I'm skeptical that UNC/Duke/NC State are willing to be separated.

PSU is goin' to the ACC all right......the Atlantic Division of the B1G.
You go back to bring a thread back to life that's last previuos post was 38 days ago and proclaim RU to the b10 is a done deal?
Yeah, brealing news there?!?!
