Yes, his agent is setting up meetings with NFL teams.
do you also post on BWI..because similar was written there, or you two know the same people
LOL. Saban said he was not interested in any NFL jobs. He never said he wasn't interested in other college jobs.

Look you do not have to believe me. I have a ton of contacts and more than a few have told me that O'Brien is in play and his agent is setting up interviews with NFL teams. My contacts at PSU have told me that they are worried he could leave. As I stated, this could all be a ploy to get more things out of PSU. I just stating what I know. You can believe it or not.
You can down vote all you want, it doesnt matter cuz I'm not asking for much. Just be a grown up and claim responsibility for your information. If you're wrong it's much more respectable to to own it than set yourself up to back pedal.
You act like I'm blasting the guy, just stating that those statements are more speculative than opinion or even fact. He doesn't even need to name the sources, just how he came across the info.
I've read many posts by miller and you shavi, never ever had an issue. No need to personalize and turn this into an argument. I respect your opinion on the matter and agree to an extent, I just have my own opinion on the matter as well.
Do your contacts at psu tell you they are likely to step up and give he and his staff raises?
That's all I wanted to know, thank you sir. Just that you heard it first hand. That's all i was asking for.
Wasn't questioning your credibility, just wanted the method info obtained. Too many people post fourth hand information and it drives me nuts.
Much respect to you, hope you understand where I'm coming from.
If we're talking straight black and white of the contract than its even worse for BOB. He amended his contract to add years based on potential sanctions. Nothing in there about the severity of them or a limitation on the buyout.
Dominate The State
don't apologize, I have the same thought, don't mean any offense to the OP in this thread, and people on this site have challenged my info because of things i heard from players mouths and not something i have a hard copy on. But i don't see any team that gives him as much money and stability as penn state. throw in his kid and buy out, which he can try and fight if he wants and has no chance of winning (ask erickson)....bill is staying unless jerry jones decides to throw some big time money his way which is the only way i see this going any further then rumor sake
It is fine. This is a crazy time and business and things can change rather quickly. I am just passing on the info I have been told. PSU and O'Brien might be talking and the NFL meetings might never happen. We are going to have to wait and see. If I hear anything else, I will share.
He should have come out by now and said what his intentions are. It is getting ridiculous. This is just one of the things that I will never understand about coaches. They can leave when they want with little to no repercussion - usually to a better paying job. But if they get fired for poor performance, then they get the term of their contract. It needs to change. They want long term contracts. But are unhappy after 1 year when they aren't making what others who have been coaching for years make. F*ck it. I will keep my season tix either way. Just sick of all this. I had enough of it last year after the season ended. I will forever miss the loyalty of the previous staff and realize the world is completely different now.
It is going to be a great month if he leaves...looking for a coach while Oregon is as well...losing recruits, and losing players to free agency again. Can't f-ing wait.
Thanks! We all appreciate any info that anyone has whether it ultimately proves to be true or not.
Feel free to tell your contacts at PSU that they should give BOB what he wants.
I have mostly avoided all this talk about OB leaving because there is nothing I can do about it and the consequences are huge. If he stays, the future is bright. if he leaves now, the program is done for 10 years IMO. either way, it's not worth my time or effort to chase rumors.
Having said that, I hope the folks that have contacts continue to post what they hear and let the rest of us decide what to believe or not. I saw all the insiders on another site disappear because people felt entitled to demand sources. If you don't want to believe someone.... simply don't.
I'm pretty sure Mr. OBrien will be back on the sidelines next year. Speculation notwithstanding, he's only been here one year and has eight years left on his contract. It would be reasonable to expect him to stay for 3, 4, 5 years. But long term, I'd expect he'll be gone. There are no more Joe Paternos who stick around for decades. And I am sure they are right when they say OBrien wants to be a head coach in the NFL. So I'm going to sit back and relax and think about next year. It's down the road a few years that the crisis will come.
"I knew when I accepted the position that there would be tough times ahead. But I am committed for the long term to Penn State and our student athletes." -BOB (7/23/2012)
IF that was BOB's true mindset less than 6 months ago, then what is driving this discussion? What are the sources saying is the issue?
His crystal ball, perhaps?
I really can't believe people getting worked up over this guy saying he has sources allover the place saying this.
I think I will trust the professionals on TV, not some guy hiding behind a screen name and some unidentified sources.
Or are we all to believe this internet wonder knows more than people like Adam Schefter and Mort?
