What is your guess for the first play on offense?
Fullback dive in honor of JoePa
Go route to Kenney.
FB dive and Zordich takes it to the house with the help of a few key blocks downfield by the WRs.
Single back. 4 wr. Delayed hand off to belton for 13 yards.
Double tight-end set and a toss to Belton
I'm hoping it's not a gadget play, but I think it may be.
Quick slant to Kenney

Play action deep to Robinson.
Fake a fullback dive since everybody will be expecting it anyways and then throw a short timing route to a tight end behind the mess for a pickup of 8-9. Would of picked up more but one corner is not fooled and is there to tackle right after the catch. Then we stall out for the next couple plays and have to kick off.
By second half hopefully things will be running more consistently on offense, I think this could be a real nail biter of a game. Ohio U is no laughing matter and this is their chance to show it to the world so they will be giving it their all. There will most likely be high viewership on this one with a mix of supporters and an even larger group curious about the aftermath of the semi wreck they have been hearing about for the past 9 months.
Bootleg with a TE drag.

Are you allowed to pass it on first down in college?
TE slant pass just like i always do on madden! works every time on video games
I think he keeps it simple, his first call as a head coach will be a play action flats pass to a tight end
McGloin interception deep downfield into double coverage?

Only if you use all 3 of your timeouts on the first posession.
Before the Freeh debacle, I would whole-heartedly agree with you. Now, highly doubt that there will be anything will be done pre-game, in-game, or post-game to honor Joe Pa. I, personally feel they should and would support such an action, but based on the actions of the university post-Freeh report, there will be no public acknowledgement of JoePa this season...I hope I'm wrong
My guess for first play....Belton off tackle

No more copy and pasting FB dive/
Going with playing action deep to Robinson

Reading all these answers really makes me excited for the season to begin. There are a lot of possible directions BOB could go with this.
He could indeed run it with Belton. With the seemingly smaller guys (one at DT, and all 3 LB's), BOB could look to make a statement early. Run to set up the passing game.
He could look to establish the TE's immediately by working the short or intermediate field.
He could look to blow the top off a possibly unsuspecting defense, which will hopefully open up the rest of the offense.
This gets my vote. BOBs first play as New England OC was a quick slant to Welker. For consistency, my prediction also includes an incompletion but defensive offsides. First Down PENN STATE!
Oh man I had forgotten about that.

I am going to build off your prediction. I think its going to be some sort of play action with Robinson going deep and an out route by the fTE.
Play action trying to get ball downfield to Robinson but have to settle for a pass underneath to Gilliam over the middle.
“We need to keep this (expletive) together,” Mauti and Zordich to Hill
Darn, you beat me to the punch!
I guess great minds think alike!
I'm thinking run play. There will be so much emotion that first play and I doubt O'Brien will want that to get the best of his guys. Easy to turn the ball over if you're riding that high.
