Wonder why they're having him on?
Do you think ESPN is at all aware of the hard-on they have for us?
F the NCAA
F the BOT
Q: So what made you lead to your decision to decommit from Penn State?
DJ: "Well, it was a culmination of things but primarily not being able to play in a bowl game. The more I thought about it, the more I thought it was in my best interest to open things up and re-evaluate everything"
Q: So is Penn State eliminated completely?
Q: Being from the state of Pennsylvania, how difficult has it been for you to hear/read/see all the negative publicity about your home state school and the program you committed to not to long ago?
DJ: "Well, it's extremely difficult. I just got me thinking more and more that maybe I didn't make the best decision initially for me and my family."
Q: What schools are you looking at now that your back to the drawing board?
DJ: "Ohio State, Virginia Tech, and Pitt"
Q: Back to Penn State...how would you rate our (ESPN's) coverage of anything and everything Penn State. Are we sharing enough negative publicity about the school or do we need more?
DJ: "Uh....um....no comment"

"DOMINATE the state" - James Franklin 1/11/14
Talk about lamb to the wolves, wow. Seems like a nice kid, I respect that he changed his mind, but the set up questions they will have for him will be tough to fend off.
Josh, the twitter thread said he'd be on at 3:30. Is this the actual interview? (it's only 12:14 Pacific Time)
“We need to keep this (expletive) together,” Mauti and Zordich to Hill
Are you kidding me. Geez I hope they have Mark May and Desmond Howard conduct the interview. Better yet why don't they just whip em out and piss all over a picture of the Nittany Lion Statue.
No it's not the actual interview. It's my own made up version. I'd imagine ESPN will have similar questions though.
The last question should give you a hint
Mark May is going to have to, ahem, "take care of himself" before this interview or he won't be able to contain himself. Imagine how much joy he's feeling right now. A top rated kid comes on his show a day after de-committing from Penn State!? I'll bet May was personally on the phone with this kid immediately after he decommitted yesterday congratulating him.
May has been dreaming of this day since he started blabbering on the airwaves.
Can you imagine if Pitt sells DJ as "the next Mark May"? LOL!
Unfortunately for Mr. May, PSU under heavy sanctions is still a better program than Pitt. #pittisirrelevant

Everyone remembers the interview ESPN had with DJ when he initially commited to PSU.....huh? me neither. All of sudden ESPN is interested in DJ....anything to make a story and slam PSU.
Cant blame DJ...what kid wouldnt want the attention and be on ESPN. I really think DJ has a good head on his shoulders...just hate to see him being used by ESPN so they can do another hit piece.
What a bunch of $#@&ing dbags. They were making it out like the only thing recruits care about is bowl games. Thats it. Bowl games are obviously the only thing that matters, not education, nfl, tradition or football, just the bowl games.
Funny thing is he would more than likely redshirt like almost every other freshman lineman. He would still have two years to go to bowl games.
He better not go to the Suckeyes.
Did anybody watch the interview? Can we have a recap?
except for the last question it was almost exactly what PSUjosh11 posted at the top.
The actual interview only lasted about 30 seconds. Then they spent a couple minutes talking about how hard it would be for psu to recruit, showed the list of decommits for the hundredth time, and how no one wants to go a school without bowl games. (ignoring the fact that redshirts would have two bowl games)
They also said that over the next few years Penn State would only be able to get junior college and fcs recruits.

Lovely. PSU against the world indeed.
geez...they really love hyperbole, don't they? This only a few weeks after Holtz said we would probably only get 50-60 thousand per game.
"...no one wants to go a school without bowl games..."
Did they mention how nobody wants to go to Ohio State or USC? They didn't have bowl games for a couple years.
Honestly though, what do we expect from ESPN? We keep getting upset about this crap when it's par for the course. They'll continue to hammer everything Penn State for as long as they can. They'll splash all our transfer and de-commits on their bottom line, and when we lose a game it will be the lead story. When we win, they'll bury it as just a box score.
ESPN is making money off of negatively reporting on Penn State and that's just a reality we'll have to come to terms with at some point.
The only way to deal with it is do what Homer did... Just Don't Look
This video was uploaded from an Android phone.
Those two blowhards have been hating all things Penn State for years. This scandal is their dream come true. They LOVE it, especially Mark May. He is absolutely giddy every time he gets to hammer on Penn State. Just look at him when he's talking about us, you can see the anger in his eyes. He truly hates Penn State with every fiber of his being. Joe must have kicked his dog or Jay banged his girlfriend or something back in the day.
It must really bother him that Pitt has been irrelevant for 30 years now. He honestly believes this is the end of Penn State football and Pitt will rise to super power status. Lol! The guy is a blind homer and cannot think rationally when it comes to Penn State.
Penn State football will be back and Pitt will continue to be irrelevant. That's just the reality of the situation.
May's hatred of Penn State is equal to my hatred of him, so I can honestly say I know how he feels and the feeling is mutual.
Get ready bud, because thats where he is going.
It was Urban who opened his eyes to getting the eff out of Pittsburgh, and they've been working him hard since before he committed anyway.

Why should we have to go to class if we came here to play FOOTBALL, we ain't come to play SCHOOL, classes are POINTLESS
Sigh... Another harsh reality.
No doubt Urbz will feed the family a load of bullshit & DJ will end up in Columbus. I wish Michigan would make a run at him. I'd rather see him in Ann Arbor.
Meyer better get him, otherwise he has ZERO on the line for a couple years.
I would honestly rather have him go to OSU than Pitt..
These have to be the same tools that run CNN, CBS and the like.
No you don't.
OSU plays us every year, and we'd play DJ twice at the most at Pitt.
