I can buy that about people in the South having a ton of respect for PSU. It almost seems like they respect PSU more than Big 10 fans!
At the same time we have only had 1 in the last 20 years....if you want to count 1994.
Besides college football is a what have you done for me lately type business. Plus in the end, head to head record is all that matters. Hopefully we never end up like the Notre Dame fan base in that we are so down as a program that we constantly reminisce like the 1970s, 80s, etc was yesterday.
True, but OSU didn't even really win their natty. Miami got hosed.
Must depend on where you live in the Midwest...
In downtown Chicago.
Chicago is a melting pot of Big 10 fans. Illinois, Iowa, MSU, Wisconsin, Inidana, and scUM probably have the biggest representation of fans. PSU has the least. That will probably change once Rugters and Maryland are in the league.
We were handicapped when y'all won in 2011. Coach got fired and all our best players were suspended whiched caused our worse season since 1897.
Our coach was fired two weeks before that game and the school was under attack, so I think we were on equal footing in that one...
Yes, because I know nothing about Chicago
The majority of B1G fans are garbage, OSU especially.
Why should we have to go to class if we came here to play FOOTBALL, we ain't come to play SCHOOL, classes are POINTLESS
Yeah I agree with you there that it is all regional. I live on the panhandle in Florida and most college football fans I run into down here have a lot of respect for PSU, and to be honest I have had a lot of people tell me they didn't agree with the sanctions and they as well are hoping for the fall of Mark Emmert.
He's also basing it off of Chicago, which is douche central of the US. But the OP was a bunch of random nonsense that barely made a point.
But at least he filled me in that Chicago is B1G central. Never would have figured that out by living in the state, doing business there, playing ball with guys from there, or having common sense.
OSU, PSU, and UM are historically top 10 all time programs. Of course we are all going to bicker. Pitt and Rutgers simply aren't on the same level. I am sure OSU and UM look down on Pitt and Rutgers too, the only difference is we have a history with those teams.
My office is outside of Chicago. I hardly ever get there. Just asking what make it douche central.
Don't live in Chicago, but they did elect Rahm mayor.....
The people lol. South side is trash, and half the north side is wanna be jersey boys.
You should try Philly!
I'll take the Chi over Philly. Refuse to ever live there no matter the offer.
Didn't know you were up there. Woulda told you to meet up for a beer. Had to be downtown during some of the game weekends for union negotiations
How many times have you been in Philly? I know you hate it more than pretty much anything.
No, I live in Pa. My office is in Itasca. I get there once in a while. The next time I do I will let you know.
Do you work in Philly?
Just once. Most of it comes from people I've met from there. I've run into em across the Midwest and in FL. Never met one I didn't want to strangle.
Fortunately lots of good people from the area on here. Like phila
No, I get there frequently on business but I live in Berks County.
Gotcha. Wouldn't characterize Philly as "wannabe Jersey." Sure there are plenty of fratty guys, but not many people act like what you'd associate with "jersey boys." Seems like most other cities - areas with preppy kids, hipsters, etc. And most people hate on Jersey constantly...
I have family and Jersey and I hate on Jersey!
