it's early for 2014's No. 1 overall player Da'Shawn Hand , but no mention of Penn State. This is what Hand had to say about updating his 247Sports profile:
“Put Virginia Tech at warm,” Hand said. “Also, put Ohio State, UNC, Clemson, USC, Alabama and Michigan at warm. Put the rest at cool.”
The nationShawn Hand (Woodbridge, Va.) is warm on several programs and has a favorite recruiter.
So to the employers of 2013, you can rest easy for now.
Employers would just can him(lest they be PSU fans maybe ha), but whoever cleans up the office may not like him so much...
Suck It Emmert!! and "Sorry for not being sorry for being a Penn Stater" - Philafan
LONG way to go here. Hopefully he visits a few more times and him and LJ can hit it off.
"DOMINATE the state" - James Franklin 1/11/14
Get him in for a visit and we should be right up there.
JMO, but based on those schools he's listing, academics aren't nearly as much of a priority as he indicated they would be in his recruitment.
Those schools are fine for academics if that is important to young Mr. Hand. Michigan, Clemson, USC, and VT all have very good engineering programs (his stated interest which will likely change over time). UNC does not have an Engineering program, but is a very good school in other areas. Ohio State is competent academically (as long as you are not in the athletic program curriculum). And Alabama, although not a very well respected school academically, I'm sure there is probably something they do well being the flagship university in their state.
Of the group, only Michigan compares to Penn State in terms of an Engineering program and overall academics, but he would still have some decent academic options in the group if he did not attend Penn State.
And remember --- he just finished his sophomore year. While he is physically advanced for his age, his brain is still forming. If he is like most sophomores, he will likely have VERY different interests and ideas in 18 months when he signs.
Swoosh, that went right over my head!
Might want to do your research on OSU's Engineering program.....you are way off
Done and ...nope.
