If we don't own WPA, I'd rather the recruits go to a program we don't compete with that plays in another conference than a division rival. Call me crazy.
Why should we have to go to class if we came here to play FOOTBALL, we ain't come to play SCHOOL, classes are POINTLESS
lol, if that is what the Pitt fans are telling you on their board as you wear your Pitt snuggie and snuggle up to them, then all I can do is
Being and living in Western PA, Pitt will never come close to even resembling the fan base of the Steelers.
As for there old stadium, they did SLIGHTLY better than they do now, and that was with better teams.
"Whoever’s trying to kill me isn’t getting the job done. But one day, I’m going to punch that f___r in the face."
Pitt was not a good football team and played a joke schedule and barely beat teams. They lost to damn UCONN ! Lol
More replies to Bob L. It definitely wasn't good news for them.
"I wasnt all that nervous before but now I am. Thanks Bob lol."
"Chryst is going all Todd Graham on us. Too bad being from Pgh eliminates you from getting the job apparently."
Lol Pitt fans saying psu is mediocre. What flippin planet are they from? PSU wouldve went undefeated in the big east.
This could be a blessing for Pitt. They should get Chritobol. I think FIU fired him way too quick today. Media likes him. They wouldn't have to deal with any buyouts and he wouldn't be too pricey. Coached at Rutgers as an assistant so he knows the area. I wouldn't mess around if I were them. Most of the good MAC level coaches have been picked through. Yeah, his record isn't great, but that is a tougher job than Pitt.
Are you retarded?
I don't snuggle, I don't wear Pitt gear, and have never liked any team from Pittsburgh. I don't talk Steeler football on a Pitt board. I talk Pitt football on a Pitt board. I know its a complicated concept, but try to follow along. Read this post a few times if you have to.
I root for Pitt because I don't have a reason to hate them and IMO it would benefit PSU if they were better. I'm sorry that upsets some people over here, but if its really so much of a problem put me on ignore. You wouldn't have to put up with the "Pitt fan who wears Pitt snuggies who likes to snuggle."
Whatever you want to call it, they did better. There is some potential there. I don't have to be a Pitt fan to see that.
EDIT: To clarify, the Steeler fans never told me "If the Steelers stop winning I'll pay attention to Pitt." I got the impression that they're a bit fairweather, at least the ones I talked to, and if the Steelers stopped winning they wouldn't watch as often. That's my opinion though.

Dont get to defensive...The core trait of a Pitter.
And I said that I grew up and live in Western PA, as a Steeler fan who knows many Steeler fans, and I will say it once again, no legitimate Steeler fan is going to stop watching the Steelers in exchange for Pitt or even stop watching Steelers as much as normal and substitute that for Pitt. Thats just how it goes here and has been going for a long while now. Steelers fans will watch the steelers if they are 0-15. Pitt will never gain from the Steelers being down is what I am saying.
I am saying, your impression is wrong. You are talking to prob. Pitt fans that are Steelers fans (I know all 3 of them over there), not Steelers fans that just happen to root for Pitt whenever they are sitting at home on a Saturday. So you are not getting an impression that is realistic to legitimate Steeler fans.
Go on now, call me a retard again for telling you what I know from living in Western PA for most of my life.

Your guidance counselor should have told you that growing up to be a troll with schizophrenia is just not a good idea.
Pitt NEVER drew when they were relevant. They played for National titles, had 1 loss seasons and were a very good team and still couldn't sell out a smaller dump in Oakland. Pittsburgh pro fans are bandwagon, especially with the Pens and much less so with Steelers, but Pitt would not benefit from any down period for Steelers.
Living in WPA is so not visiting the Pitt board.

This thread has gone down hill.
I don't want to age myself but I went to school out in the Western part of the state......I can promise you before the Steelers started winning with the Bradshaw/Ham/Harris groupI they had very little support. They are a true front running band wagon jump on city. (the Penquins would follow). I can promise you I cannot remember one fellow student even mentioning the Steelers to me. This is the early 70's.
That is true, but since Steelers started winning, they created a pretty strong fan base. Pitt has won before and never created anything close.
Steelers are too big now for Pitt to benefit from Steelers being down. Steelers after 6 Super Bowls is different than Steelers with 0 Super Bowls.
Despite being a bandwagon city, Pittsburgh will always be a pro sports town...No amount of losing will draw more people to Pitt games.
They have sold out since and have had some lousy stretches, especially in the 80's. NFL wasn't exactly the National force it is in the late 60's/early 70's either. Steelers fanbase sticks, I'll give you teh rest, especially the Pens. I remember going to many games between the 2001 Eastern finals and the drafting of Crosby where they were lucky to have 8000. When they won the cup again, suddenly 300k lifelong die hard fans emerged from under rocks
I'm willing to bet if your a huge fan of amateur football in the western part of the state then you are probably a huge high school football fan. I think people in the west take their HS football more seriously than they take PITT football. The WPIAL championships at Heinz probably have as many people as Pitt games.
Listen, I also grew up in Western PA, went to PSU, and now live in Pittsburgh and I can tell you this as an absolute certainty, Pitt would not benefit from the Steelers being bad. Steelers fans would rather go watch the Steelers lose than watch Pitt. You should hear the local radio/media in the city when the Steelers lose, they are ready to fire the HC, Big Ben, and jump off the Clemente bridge. If something like what happened at PSU happened to the Steelers, you would really see the definition of a cult because I honestly believe if the Steelers somehow got banned from the playoffs from 4 years this city would burn and people might actually get killed and I'm not saying that jokingly. Now can we please put this pointless argument to bed?
Dominate The State
Pitt's biggest problem is that they suck...get better and maybe you will draw more.
It is not the threads fault. Blame it on some of the people making posts.
History would say otherwise.
"One man didn't build this program and one man sure as hell cannot tear it down."
It's been a while since they were good. Look at the Pirates, got a little better over the last 2 years and you couldn't find a ticket. Pitt's problem is that they have been a joke since A-hole Sherrill left. Harris had a decent team and had a decent schedule a few years ago with va tech, miami, notre dame but i don't remember if they drew fans during that year. Otherwise, they have been pretty awful over the last 30 years and have become irrelevant.
In your mind, do you think that you know everything about everything? Because, it is often difficult to believe otherwise about you based on your attitude when posting.
News flash #1: You don't know everything about everything. No one does. Not even college kids.
News flash #2: There will always be people who disagree with you, no matter what you say or do. Doesn't automatically make either party right or wrong.
News flash #3: Constantly getting defensive and calling people retarded is no way to carry yourself, particularly once you move out into the real world. That attitude will get you no where in a hurry.
Yes, but when they Pirates WERE good in the past, they sold a ton of tickets. Pitt was good and still couldn't draw. They were as good as they are ever going to be from 76-81 and still didn't sell their dump in oakland out.
