The #1 Team in the state, the Goose Creek Gators (from here in the Charleston area) have been ruled ineligible for the rest of the playoffs. They had a player on the team that was ineligible because of an incomplete school transcript. The football team supposedly just found out about it and self reported it. The player had only played 20 plays the entire year and was a foster care kid who had bounced around to different schools. Seems a little harsh to me to take it out on the whole team (sound familiar), but they had their final appeal thrown out last night.
COLUMBIA are done for the year.
Interesting, does seem a bit harsh... Is that Rodney Kinlaw's High School?
It does sound harsh, but from an outsider, to me I would guess the kid was recruited to the school (among prob. many others if this is a large HS powerhouse) and the people that voted dont like that and finally got something they can hit them with (sound familiar? though we not once have played ineligible players or committed any NCAA violations).
"Whoever’s trying to kill me isn’t getting the job done. But one day, I’m going to punch that f___r in the face."
I could be wrong, but I think JC Shurburtt does not get along with the coach of this school. Saw a tweet the other day saying he felt sorry for the players, but that the coach was a huge jerk.
