Kennett Square (Pa.) Unionville athlete Tom Pancoast has given me the go-ahead to say that he will be running on at Penn State. He just spoke with Ron Vanderlinden. Pancoast said that Penn State sees him as a safety.
Pancoast finished his senior year as the Ches-Mont League American Conference's Player of the Year, earning first team honors on both offense and defense. As a senior he combined for over 2,000 yards of total offense and 31 touchdowns.
Pancoast had offers from Bucknell and Colgate as a linebacker and Villanova was taking a look at him as a quarterback.

Nice. Seems like a good athlete. Great to see him aboard.
Welcome to Nittany Nation kid.
Great size. Welcome.
Did Steve W. let the cat out of the bag early?
In any case, I'm happy this kid is running on for us. Looks like he could be contributor, at least on special teams.

Welcome to the family Tom!
Another quality run on addition.
Nice, welcome to the family.
You know - I am not sure if any of these run-ons will pan out, but DAMN - kudos to BOB and the staff for attracting kids that have opportunities elsewhere, but see the true value of playing for Penn State. The job they are all doing continues to amaze me - and I know I am not alone in that opinion. Just phenomenal !
Malvern (Pa.) Great Valley athlete Chris Geiss will run on at Penn State as well. He was a high school quarterback but will come in with the 'athlete' tab.
do we know approx how many run-ons there might be this year?
Geiss is an impressive looking player. I would have taken him as a QB. Athlete is fine, just happy to get him for free.
Sean, Nyeem tweeted about Tyler Phillips running on today is this confirmed?
im chuckling cuz it seems like the kids running on are from very wealthy areas..Malvern..Kennett Square..must have some $$ to pass scholarship money up.
Not to change subjects, but does anyone know what is going on with Karlon Quiller? I know it's probably not going to happen, but is there any chance of him running on? Weren't the coaches showing him some interest at some point?

Lewisburg LB Brandon Smith has decided to make his decision public. He'll walk on at #PennState over grants from Princeton and Penn.

HUGE. Kid can play.
Edit: I want you know who from Erie too. He is a good looking LB prospect.

WE ARE! And we will always be...
Wow, that is awesome. Kid can play.
Is this a great group of run ons compared to past years? Don't remember so much attention to them. Is it just due to scholarship limits? Just wondering
IMO, that is the best walk-on yet.
The scholarship limits are putting a bigger focus on run ons but would be curious to grade out some previous run on classes to see how this group stacks up.. We've had some good ones in the recent past, Kilmer, butler, and hull are all former walkons who got drafted the last several years...
Also, taking run-ons will pay dividends down the road in building relationships with the HS coaches and future potential recruits.
