This one confuses the hell out of me. We have all said we only want those who want to be here. However, I must say this one confuses the hell out of me, and far more than Redd. I know you all said you thought Redd would be one of the last to leave, but I thought this was far more unlikely.
I am a huge fan of BO'B and he has done an AMAZING job of keeping this many players. That being said, I must say I'm shocked he couldn't keep Brown. This should be an easy sell. You admit OU has a much better QB but sell opportunity. With Redd gone, he could be looking at 12+ targets a game (tell him he would be most target WR in the B10).. He will go to OU and maybe get 5-7 targets and likely be the 3rd WR. If he wants the NFL this is his best shot (has an outside shot but now could have a great shot with added reps). Even if the offense is much worse he would have all the opportunity to shine. He would be the most important player yada yada. Really makes ZERO sense. This is a far more confusing case than Redd.
Again though, love the work BO'B has done and no departure is his fault. Just surprised is all.

Success isn't something that just happens - success is learned, success is practiced and then it is shared.
-- Sparky Anderson
I wouldn't say that yet
"@jasonkersey: Just had a very brief phone call with PSU WR Justin Brown. Said he's not close to a decision & doesn't have a timetable for one #Sooners"
Any chance Zordich & Royer play both offense & defense this year?
Huh? Royer ? He hasn't seen the field yet and isn't on the 2 deep.
Hey man, I don't know. Just thinking out loud. Supposedly a great athlete. Just thinking who may play both offense & defense.
I think that will still be a very rare thing, even with shollie players being lessened in numbers.
Just too tough to do. Such an extremely small percentage are capable.
Maybe, maybe a CB/WR as CB can largely be reactionary(1 on 1) stuff or small zones and schemes for them are still just covering a certain player or area. So they can learn a bit of WR on the side, even if mostly as a decoy or just a few routes (if fast fly and drag routes for example).
IMO we shouldnt see a lot of 2way guys out there. Just real tough on the kids in many aspects. The higher the level of ball, the tougher it is.

Suck It Emmert!! and "Sorry for not being sorry for being a Penn Stater" - Philafan
From what I'm reading, I'm definitely not liking PSUs chances with Lynch.
When top running back Silas Redd left Penn State for the USC Trojans, it was the biggest blow that Penn State could suffer in terms of a player transferrin
Tim Tolley? I'll wait for Sean, Cory, Steve, etc.
Seems like every time there is a rumor about a kid he ends up leaving. That pattern doesn't bode well for seeing Lynch or Brown in Happy Valley after this weekend.
yea, expecting them gone, hoping for the best
We've had a couple rumors that went are way.
Good points! Forgot about those.
I guess I'm just not very optimistic about Lynch & Brown b/c of all the smoke surrounding them. Seems like Brown especially wants out from what I've read.

I am really starting to question Lynch's intelligence if he doesnt see the quality in his position coach that he has right here.

Look, these are kids we're talking about here. They want to play on a successful team, go to bowl games (sometimes), and maybe they don't want the cloud of sanctions and Jerry Sandusky hanging over them. I can't blame them if they bolt. It's only human to think about it. The difference I see is only an increased respect for the kids that do stay.

Thankfully. Especially since it seems like Lynch is on his way out the door now too.
"DOMINATE the state" - James Franklin 1/11/14
He seems really thrilled about it
Hmmm... do we consider Dukes a reluctant warrior?
Looks like we're keeping Lynch & Dukes!
I like our chances with Zwinak, Lynch, Dukes & Belton!
He is the only person on the Roster with RB experience. Regardless of how he is feeling today, I have no doubt he will give his all on the field
He is going to be forced into the spotlight. Maybe he will grow up to be a leader, if not I think we will see the same thing from him next year before fall camp begins. So far his failure to maintain good grades have not impressed anyone.
Tweets saying hull certainly back.
Finally some positive news on the "transfer rumor" front.
good thing the HC at Syracuse coached with BOB at GT, because I bet if Tim Beckman was there Dukes would be too.
Lynch's class was hit the hardest by the sanctions and haven't been around very long. I can totally understand people like him and pollard transferring.
