A local story on players preparing for the Combine at D1 Nashville, where Chaz Powell is training.
Quick interview, and AWESOME (joking) shirtless pics & video...
I'm a little surprised they didn't invite Green.
yeah, i feel like he'd have been able to get himself drafted if he got the opportunity to run at the combine...dude can scoot...
Only 15 WR went under 4.5 last year, and about 1/3 weren't drafted from what I can remember. I'd say if Moye can go 4.5-4.55 and show enough strength to convince scouts he can get off the line consistently against bump and run, he'll get a look in the 5th or 6th.
I'd like to see Chaz at 4.45 or so.
Are you hearing any specific reason why?
Troutman got things off to a rough start with a 5.67. He tied for 2nd to last (only beat Oglesby, who's had like 52 different issues with his legs). That's a pretty awful time for someone of his size all things considered.
How much do 40's really matter for offensive linemen? Wouldn't the first 10 yards and shuttle type stuff be more important?
40's for offensive linemen mean almost nothing. But if a few teams were on the fence about Troutman and had concerns about his athletic ability this might be another strike against him. Ultimately it doesn't matter much, but it obviously doesn't help.
Oglesby and Luke Nix looked awful today

Just saw on BWI free board Moye ran a 4.48. I would say I'm pretty close. :-)
(though I'm probably not the only one that was pretty close)
I had 4.45.....hopefully his second run is a little better.
Nevertheless, that's a good time for him

I'll bet his next run is a tad faster, and you're pretty close.
Good for Moye. The sub 4.5 will probably help his draft stock.
Looks like his second was a 4.50
I'm impressed, I was expecting closer to a 4.53 for him.
To put it in perspective, Moye ran the 24th best 40 time amongst wideouts
I believe the 4.48 was unofficial. Official times are almost always slower by about 0.05-0.1 seconds.
Official for Moye was 4.52. He looked fluid in the drills, caught the ball well, good day for him.
4.52? Wonder if anyone guessed that...
I thought he did well in the drills also. Today helped him a ton.
McNutt is not very impressive.
we'll hand out (and my hand out I mean you won't get anything) prediction awards when the combine is over. I have been kicking myself for the past couple hours as I originally had Moye at 4.52 before making a last minute adjustment to 4.49 before posting. I'm just happy he comfortably got under 4.6. I still don't understand how some scouts thought he would run low to mid 4.6's. Hopefully happydudetom can find some time to post some of the reactions to Moye's 40 time and overall performance.
4.85 for Crawford and 5.08 for Still.
Gem - your pretty close to perfection for the 1st three - good job.
