Job well done, BOB! Let's keep this ship righted in the right direction.
"DOMINATE the state" - James Franklin 1/11/14
Awesome . Great job coach .
Man that is awesome. I would have loved to be there if it wasn't on a damn Thursday night.
Outstanding, congrats coach!!!!
Where was Urban?
Wow....that is awesome! Congrats!
(Use that sucker for recruiting!!!!!)
At the loser's table?
classic, +1 because that's all I can give, needs more.
Whose asses did he kick? Meyer? Kelly? Kelly? Snyder?

“We need to keep this (expletive) together,” Mauti and Zordich to Hill
Congrats to him! Well deserved, now he can flash that to recruits!
O’Brien beat out coaches James Franklin (Vanderbilt), Urban Meyer (Ohio State), David Shaw (Stanford), Bill Snyder (Kansas State), and Kevin Sumlin (Texas A&M) for the honor.
That is awesome. Thanks for the post as I would not have known otherwise. Not like ESPN would put that on their home page. It is funny that every kid that transferred last year including the walk on DB made the headlines for ESPN's web page, yet not one of BOB's COY awards has. Just one more notch in his belt to sell to recruits. I love it.
It's on espn. Check under ncaaf
I do think Sumlin will give Saban a run for his money in the SEC. He is as good as anyone in developing top QB's and looks like he already has the SEC recruiting style down. He is 1-0 against Saban and counting. With the coaching and recruiting, I can see A&M being a NC contender on a yearly basis before too long.
The exact is true with BOB and Meyer. It is only a matter of time until the handcuffs come off and UM and OSU gets knocked off their perch by BOB and PSU as the alpha dogs of the conference.
Got it. Thanks. It just does not ever make the home page. Ever. When Kelly won at ND, it was the headline story on their home page. The last COY award BOB won did not even make it to the NCAAF page. It was in a Big 10 blog of all places. In this case, it did not make their cut as headlines over "Ballclub to host Te'o Girlfriend Bobblehead Day" or a WR going to Ole Miss.

Another pic of BOB last night: http://photos.prnewswire.com/prnfull/20130118/DC44794
What great exposure BOB is giving to this University, our student athletes, and the football program as a whole. Great individual honor for BOB, but I would guess, he being the person he is, would give little credit to himself for this.
This also has to do wonders for national recruiting: COY in his first year at the helm of a so called “toxic program". 8-4(could have been 10-2 or even 11-1)when all the experts had us winning no more than 6 games. Coached the best professional QB, and had the leagues most explosive offensive in the NFL. Took a run-on quarterback with below-average skills, and turned him into one of the most efficient QB is the BIG. What the heck more could a national recruit want.
"A bowl game ain't nothing but a vacation." - Gerald Hodges
Congrats Coach O'Brien
Does that flower look out of place or what?
I will never forget Holtz saying "they will be lucky to win three games" while Mark May laughed as he said "and what three would that be".
That is awesome. I wish him the best.
