From what I've been told, Penn State QB signee Christian Hackenberg will wear No. 14 at Penn State. Little bit of history in that number at the position.

Oh no the Anthony Morelli kiss of death! Not a good sign!
Dominate The State
Thanks for the heart attack!
Hopefully he makes it memorable ! ... I don't want to see the Morelli curse !
Think QB for the 1st national championship team, not Morelli.
Na, going old school, Chuck Fusina!
Both National Championship teams actually.
Thanks for reminding me!
Fusina, Blackledge, Schafer, Hackenberg.
Sounds about right.
Richardson as well.....if memory serves me right. He wasn't too bad
True.... and I bet you can still find some cheap as hell #14 jerseys around on the internet, never mind that they would still have the opposite color ribbing.
Morelli wasn't THAT bad - though in retrospect I think he wasted some very good defenses, good enough to possibly get into a BCS title game in his senior year.
Black Shoes. Basic Blues. No Name. All Game.
Richardson is correct, loved Wally.
Yeah I don't remember which Morelli team was better. I'd have to go back & check, but that was the thing with Morelli...he plays a little bit better, we probably could of been a BCS Bowl team in 07. Probably not 06 because that was when Michigan & OSU were stacked, but the 07 team with the right QB probably was a 10-11 win team. Then again, substitute O'Brien for Jay & that probably solves the problem.
The 06 team was just very young, and yea that year had a couple of very good Buckeye/Michigan teams - and in both games we were in a position to get a big win because of our defense. It took what amounted to a prayer of a play from Troy Smith to take the lead late in the 4th quarter, which were immediately followed by a couple of Morelli pick 6s.
Against Michigan we only lost by a TD, I think 17 - 10, and Morelli was actually playing quite well before that fat-a$$ Alan Branch decided to land on his head. Of course there's no reason to think that we would win that game if he was still in.
That was Morelli's big issue. He was fine when the game situation was normal. But when it came to crunch time, he folded like a lawn chair.

YES! I've been waiting to wear my white Morelli jersey without being harassed since 2006. Fantastic news!
no he was not that bad. But too much hype and potential when compared to actual results. Not entirely his fault, although I remember a game at Illinois where he was able to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory.
Even Morelli was able to knock out two 9 win seasons. It could be worse.
He did that against MSU as well
I thought he was wearing 7? What happened to that?
Geno Lewis is #7
Yes you can, $36 on ebay.
I disagree he was one of the worst QB's ever at Penn State. I stopped believing in JoePa's coaching ability when he played him over Darryl Clark for two straight years.
Not sure Hack has the athletic ability of a John Schafer though.. Just kidding, love John!! never lost a game since the 7th grade (except OU in the 85 NC)
Speaking of John Schafer, I went to my little cousin's school play. I had family there as well, which included my grandmother. She ran into her old friend from her time as a ER nurse. I go to tell my grandmother that I am heading out, but she is talking to this friend still. My grandmother introduces me and mentions that I attend Penn State and she goes on to say how her nephew was a QB at Penn State. She says, "you probably don't know him, but his name is John Schafer."
I have one upvote left, and I am not afraid to use it!!!
Love numbers..... 14??
I always think 7 - 10 - 12 ...... Though 14 has some hallowed PSU ground... IF They sell a NIKE one... I would buy it.
PENN STATE FOREVER
The fact that we had any BCS teams with Jay on the offensive staff is remarkable in itself.
I have never heard of a more dysfunctional staff than the Galen/Jay/Joe/McQueary crap.
Why should we have to go to class if we came here to play FOOTBALL, we ain't come to play SCHOOL, classes are POINTLESS
