This is exactly why he would probably go. Head coaches, especially really good ones, have really big egos. He hears people say that they don't think he could win at the NFL level. He wants to prove them all wrong to satisfy his ego...
Why should we have to go to class if we came here to play FOOTBALL, we ain't come to play SCHOOL, classes are POINTLESS
So, which MAC school coach gets that gig - Directional Illinois or Kent?
Only NIU is in the MAC. Leave all the directional Illinois schools alone.
Isn't Northern a directional school? duh
Embree is out at Colorado so a PAC 12 spot is open for some sucker.
I liked TOB at BC, and was a bit surprised he left for NC State when he had the program performing well above its expectations.
He did a hell of a job developing the players he got. Good, smart, under the radar players, similar to many PSU type players. If I remember correct, he was at Navy at some point before BC?
Spaz deserves a lot of that credit too, he was great as their DC, and fell into a tough spot when Jags was fired/left.
They actually put out some quality NFL talent in those years. Off the top of my head, Matt Ryan, Raji, Kiwanuka, Herzlich I believe started under TOB, and some quality O-lineman like Cherilus and Snee
Considering Jimbo's less than stellar performance thus far with top flight talent on the roster in a pathetic ACC, one might wonder why he'd think heading to the train wreck that is Auburn right now in the toughest conference in the country would be a good idea. I think that speculation is just that - all smoke.
Lot of talk on Rivals' MB that Jack Del Rio may just be headed to Colorado. Would be an excellent hire for them IMO. Only 50, obviously has strong NFL ties, could assemble an excellent staff. That's a really good hire for them after the disgraceful few years they have had.
That would be a great hire.
I remember using Colorado all the time in Bill Walsh College Football 95 on the Genesis. Unbeatable, and after touchdowns a buffalo would run across the field (really the main reason why I used them).
Wow, home run for them.
They need to get back to what they were. They had a tremendous program for a decade or two, and I'd love to see those uniforms on a New Year's Day bowl somewhere.
Then I guess I shouldn't mention playing w UMass on Coach K for Sega either?

Watch it now...
Giants on Techmo Bowl - now THAT'S old school.
Loved Bill Walsh's College Football! IIRC didnt they use the names like State College instead of PSU and South Bend instead of ND? I know they did for at least one of the versions.
BW CFB, NHL series, Madden series all on Genesis were legendary games.

Bo Jackson on Tecmo Bowl...Maybe the most unstoppable video game athlete of all time.
Bo Jackson goes 99 yards and takes out a full quarter of game clock in the greatest football video game of all time, Tecmo Super Bowl for the NES.

Yeah, not helping your case.
Camby was unstoppable! I also used to play as Syracuse and John Wallace could not miss from 3. Loved the unrealistic nature of that game for that.
