Heard this from the friend of a friend of a friend and thought you might want to know.
Chaz made it to the final round of cuts, as you know, working mostly as a kick off and punt returner. He was having trouble catching the ball and adjusting to the speed of the NFL. He said the difference in speed between college and the pros was night and day and the transition was a lot harder than from high school to college.
It's not all bad, though, as he made about $300,000 in three weeks or so. He also had one course remaining to complete his degree, which he's taking now, so I'd imagine he'll have his degree come January.
Good for him. Sometimes I wonder if guys like Chaz who give the NFL a shot and quickly move on with their lives aren't the lucky ones.
He should do well in life.
saw him a few days ago at the Wal Mart in Shrewsbury.....wonder if he will ever try the NFL again
I went to the same high school as Chaz, but graduated a few years earlier and never got to meet him. The friends I have that know him all say he's a good guy who overcame a bit of a rough upbringing. Best of luck to him.
Honestly he has a better of shot at making money starting a career in whatever he went to school for.
That isn't a slam on him, but a reality for most college athletes. IMO too many kids bounce around arena and semi pro teams for too long. He gave it a shot, time to get on with the rest if his life.
Thanks for the update on Chaz. I always liked him as a player and wish he didn't move around from offense to defense as much as the previous staff liked to toy with him.

Kind of related, and kind of not... is Nate Stupar still on the Raiders practice squad? I know he got cut in the final round, and was initially going to be on the practice squad, but looking at recent tweets, he seems to be back home in PA. Just curious
How could he possibly make 300k? If he signed as a free agent he probably barely made enough to make his car payment.
Yeah my exact thoughts. Good guy but he is telling friends some bs if he is claiming he made 300k
Probably right, but with the Raiders you can never rule it out.
Looks like Stupar got cut a couple games into the season.
What does that even mean?
He didn't make 300k in three weeks. No way.
it seems like he has been out for 2 years but i guess its only been 1
