Despite Roof and the Front 7's debacle yesterday, if we just made 5 more catches/plays that we should have, we would have easily won the game.
1. Belton 3d down screen (thrown too early)
2. Hodges punt Muff (direct -3 points)
3. Obeng (direct - 7 points)
4. Bomb down the middle (needed more air - further left - receiver open inside) (direct - 7 points)
5. Lewis 3d down crossing pattern (thrown to hard)
All the strength and conditioning won't help that. All the scheming won't help that. Players have to make plays. Our players are not talented enough so they spend too much effort getting in position to make the play that when they get the chance they can't do it frequently enough.
Why is Evan Lewis on the field?
He picked up the offense quickly and caught a lot of balls in practice. Picked a bad time to drop one yesterday, though.
McGloin might have had a bit too much smoke on that but when it hits you in the hands, it's gotta be caught.

Yeah, people hate on mcgloin for not having an arm and then bash him for throwing too hard?
Yeah. It's really hard to imagine how someone with an average arm can throw a 7 yard pass too hard (and slightly ahead of a receiver) on a crossing pattern. Next thing you know someone will hate on some super quick back like Silas Dedd because they don't have top end speed. Can't be; can it?
Why can't those two issues be true and valid? Very close passes can be thrown too hard without the QB having a strong arm. The criticism is accurate.
I agree 100%
BoB likes him in that "Welker" role.

Hey, these guys are playing major college football...you have to throw hard to get it there on time some times....look at brett favre, not to compare mcgloin to brett favre, but he broke receivers fingers throwing the ball short...if they want someone to throw it gently to them ill see about getting my five year old nephew to suit up, but personally I just think they should catch the ball when it hits their hands...as much as mcgloin isn't the greatest qb, a receiver has help out his qb, it hits you in the hands, you catch it. Period. I know ppl hate mcgloin but come on let's not just blindly blame everything on him
