Hoping the team doesn't rely too much on emotion today. Have to execute and make plays today. We lost both of the two most emotional games in the last year (Nebraska 2012, Ohio 2013) and we've lost a few games with raucus crowds in Beaver Stadium recently - including to Michigan, Ohio State, Miami (Adam T return).
Only focused, intense effort and concentration be each player when coupled with a crowd prepared to go All In with the noise results in Nebraska 2002 and OSU 2005.
I am pretty sure the players know that it's the execution and focus that cause the emotion and not the other way around. The crowd noise also feeds off execution. They play the way we all know they can, and this bad boy is self-energizing!
At a time or another, all coaches have delivered advice based on the Yerkes-Dodson Law.
The team is out to make a statement they will be focuses. Ohio State is not as good as everyone thinks right now, and Braxton will be rattled this game. He may feel feel fine physically , but mentally last weeks injure will be on his mind.
Not focused enough. Dropped passes and pick 6s, poor fake punt execution; false start penalties; dropped kickoffs, etc. All issues displaying lack of concentration and focus. Overall the team played pretty well, I thought. Just too many mental mistakes (and of course the officials which put the game out of reach).
These guys have had a brutal twelve months of off and on-field distractions, and as fantastic as they have been thru it all, they have not been able to stay focused in the three biggest statement games they've had since last Nov (Nebraska, Ohio, and now OSU). Wish they could have one just one of them. The memories of all are still great for me because of what the team and their effort means to our university community, but I'm sure the losses sour the memories for the players.
