I just watched his film... How does this kid have not a single offer???
His film looks good, but the talent level isn't that great in his league( mostly D2-D3 guys). I played in that league when I was in high school. A couple guys I played against went D1, most notably Chris Snee from the Giants.
I think they only lost to Dunmore by one point in the district playoffs. Dunmore went on to the state final losing to Clairton. He was the Scranton Times defensive player of the year. Wartman was their choice last year. The competition isn't the greatest but I think he will contribute in a few years.
...and if you're not down with that, then I got 2 words for ya.."suck it!!"
I'll take a DPOTY as a walk on every time, regardless of competition level. Our coaches will coach this kid up!
Could be that Old Forge is a Class A school. Figure a player who is at Class A (where the competition isn't nearly as good, especially in the Scranton/Wilkes-Barre area outside of Dunmore) has to be something special to get an offer. Not always the case (Jordan Hill played at Steelton, but he had great size/quickness on his side), but could be a reason. Kid definitely has good size and can play. A bit surprised nobody offered him (he could definitely play at a place like Temple).
This I why you find diamonds in the rough every year. It's also why it is so hard to accurately scout high school players. If this kid played in a 8a league in Florida he probably would be a high three star or four star
Loved watching this kid play this past year. Very easy since the stadium is 4 blocks from my house.
He will contribute for sure down the road.
I'm an NEPA Guy and have seen Brian play. He's a heck of an athlete and a good prospect. He's got good size and speed and could potentially play multiple positions for us. I think the reason that so many of these kids go unnoticed or underrecruited is becasue of location #1 and lack of involvement in the sideshow camp circuit being #2. Every year there are multiple players that make the NFL from low Div 1, FCS and even D2 and D3 schools. There are plenty of good football players who simply fall through the cracks. We are fortunate to be in the position to land a bunch of these kids, kudos to our staff.
I coach in the area and I have seen a lot of kids the last 5-7 years. I really think the area gets a bad rap for not being that talented. Delaware Valley is producing 1-2 D1 kids a year at this point. Abington Heights has had a couple the last few years. Scranton Prep will have their second in 4 years with Noah Beh (Kevin Reihner at Stanford). Dunmore will have at least one this year, possibly 2 after sending a lineman to Boston College 2 years ago. Scranton has some kids, etc., and Valley View has been on a roll the last 2 years. I really, really think a major problem for years was that Dick Anderson was recruiting the area. I don't bash the former staff, but I think in just one year, you get the impression that BOB thinks the area may be under recruited. Skill guys will be have been few recently, but there is some good, young talent coming up. There will always be big linemen. There is an absolute monster playing tackle up at Wallenpaupack, and Dunmore's line was huge last year and they may actually be bigger this year. Tomasetti is a player, look for him in 2 years on special teams, 3 years in the weight program and I think safety is his spot. I think as time goes on, we'll see more and more from the area get offers. I would expect at least 2 D1 players from Dunmore in the next 2 years.
Additionally, I like Robbie Siclari from Western Wayne as an OLB. If he didn't have injury issues the last 2 years, he would have several offers by now. Kid is explosive. Hopefully he can be offered as a run on.

Just checked out his film, yeah, pretty darn good. You have to think he has a real chance of finding his way onto the field in some capacity before his career over. The kid is just a solid all around athlete/football player.
Yea, definitely the type of kid that you love to grab as a run-on. I think his best position at the next level is going to be at one of the safety spots, unless his man-to-man coverage skills blow the coaches away when he gets on campus.

Great stuff here.
Good stuff Rooster. Like it when people who see these kids play chime in and share thoughts. Always appreciated.
Suck It Emmert!! and "Sorry for not being sorry for being a Penn Stater" - Philafan
Good stuff here. Doesn't have great speed, but he's not totally void of it. Get him in the weight room with Fitz and that should improve. Also really liked his playmaking ability after his interceptions. He really made a lot of things happen on his own. Been a while since Penn State had a DB that could do that. Really like him as a safety down the road and on special teams, too.
Both he and Pancoast are good looking S prospects IMO. Good haul there.
WE ARE! And we will always be...
Thanks bud, have seen some serious talent over the last few years. We've been fortunate to play some great teams.
Also, if Beh from Scranton Prep hits the camp circuit, he will blow up.
This is a kid from Dunmore that I'm surprised doesn't have a run on offer. Mike Boland #71
Michael Boland Senior Year #71
Good to see some other NEPA folks on here. I'm from Moscow, but live in Scranton now. Always great to see the local kids get opportunities at D1 schools.
Agree. Kid has decent skills and great size.
