I never knew Skippy boy was on the side of Penn State. But he is. Good for Skip.
The link is for those that dont boycott ESPN. Skip and Steven A. discuss Mark Emmerrt. Skip takes Penn States side and Steven A. looks like a douche with his comments...AGAIN.
BacardiBuckeye: "But in all honesty I like Penn State, I want to see Penn State do good that's why I check this board everyday." 4/2/14
Steven A., regardless of his outlandish comments towards PSU, is probably one of the ESPN guys I hate the most. Definitely in the top 3.
"DOMINATE the state" - James Franklin 1/11/14
Skip is on whatever side will make the most people listen/piss the most people off. Do people still not realize this?
Accurate statement. He just wants to get a rise out of his audience.
F Bayless - he is out for himself and ratings.
Yep. Can say the same thing about pretty much any ESPN personality.
I haven't heard hide nor hare from Millen or Blackledge on ESPN since jaypa spoke up.

I wanted to say that I couldn't care less about what Skip Bayless thinks, but then I realized that I care way less what Stephen A. thinks.
If Bayless is defending Penn State, we're in trouble. He has an uncanny ability to be wrong no matter what he says.
“We need to keep this (expletive) together,” Mauti and Zordich to Hill
They are both douche nuggets. They take opposing views on almost everything so they can get in heated arguments and try to boost ratings. They are both clueless morons.
Blackledge went off on twitter about how he supports the Paterno Report and that the Freeh Report was flawed etc. I don't think ESPN wants anyone pro-PSU on at this point. The narrative has already been set.
Good for Skip! I guess Stephen A once again reveals what the A stands for. How does a jerk like that get a job as a "Journalist"? To say that he would never change his mind on Penn State regardless of the evidence sounds neanderthal-ish.
Bayless and Smith are both loudmouth idiots. The schtick is predictable and tired...Bayless plays the role of contrarian. He almost always attempts to position himself against the majority so he looks like some headstrong independent guy who is trying to show everybody else the way. "See, I've been telling all of you all along. I was the only one...I've been saying it since day one." Smith plays the role of the voice aligned with popular thought..."look at me, the people agree with me...I am the people's champ."
ESPN is a joke, mainly because it presents itself as a bastion of journalism. It is not. It is a place of entertainment...no more, no less. With the exception of live sports, I no longer have any use for it. I should probably mention, in fairness, that many of those 30 for 30 films have been really good. I struggle to find much value beyond that.
...not sure who you are, but I know who WE ARE...
Sorry, but this is an idiotic post.
#1 on my list
He's a clown! Who cares what he has to say? Then he says 100% that he will never change and in next line he says he can' imagine anything that will allow him to change his mind.
He kind of changed positions mid sentence.
I think of Bayless the same as I do Corbett. Not favorably.
+ 1. I too do not watch ESPN unless it's a sporting event. Maybe SportsCenter on occasion. Other than that I have no use for them.
"I like your head, it's a good look." - James Franklin, to a bald reporter asking a question.
my thoughts exactly. I'll enjoy reading what they say and watching what they do in this specific matter, but it doesn't change what they are....
ESPN First Take (Skip and Stephen A's show) is the shining example of what ESPN has become... a Jerry Springer type, sports based entertainment network..
And I'm not a huge fan of Jerry Springer
Perfectly said. That is exactly what most of ESPN is. Very few shows/personalities provide something of substance.
I now only watch ESPN for live sporting events. Every one of their produced shows on TV is mindless garbage. ESPN radio is not far behind, but I do enjoy SVP and Russillo. If they weren't on, I probably would never listen.
unfortunately for every person like you and I that stopped watching the "springer-like" trash, there are probably 2 or 3 people that tune in to watch it. There's a reason ESPN went in that direction and it's not because they are losing viewers. It's the same reason springer and similar shows have been on the air for decades and aren't going away.... people eat up the drama.

Blackledge has been tweeting very positive stuff about PSU and Joe
I still remember when Todd went on Mike and Mike way back when the Sandusky stuff first hit the fan and basically said "Well, I want to see all the evidence first, but this is not the PSU or Joe that I know." They blasted him for it (of course, not until he was gone). I think he has heard enough and seen enough that his decision is made.
The great thing about Todd is that he is universally respected (unlike, say, Matt Millen). It's nice to have him in our corner.
Stephen A. Smith, the word regardless is pronounced exactly the way it is spelled. Not regarless. You're on ESPN, maybe trying to pronounce words correctly would be good.
