I think the boards meeting had a purpose to fight the sanctions. However, I think they might have done the right thing by not fighting them at this time. I believe it was a big pr decision to take it on the chin now and let the justice system continue forward with the next trial. I for one can not see us battling it out on the grounds that the freeh report is not accurate. if the results of the curley/shultz trail came back and proved there was no cover up this thing might be game on. If that is the case we should fight. On the other hand if it does not then it would look horrible in the publics eyes for us. So at the present time, I think the board got this one right.
Just a thought but perhaps the BOT wants to wait until after the Curley/Schultz trials are over. If they are found not guilty, it gives PSU a lot more ammunition to go after the NCAA b/c then they will basically be able to argue that there was no cover-up and that the Freeh Report mischaracterized the whole situation. If Curley/Schultz are found not guilty, I think people may be singing a whole new tune.

October 12, 2013. PSU 43 - UM 40 (4 OT). Unfortunately this fan wasn't around long enough to see it!
