“Never trust a government that doesn't trust its own citizens with guns.”
Its not like the staff had their choice of anybody they wanted last year...Its pretty unfair to make an inference about their talent evaluation skills by looking at kids they offered right after the most crippling sanctions in NCAA history.
"Not trying to argue, and not trying to say that this staff cant assess talent, but what makes you think this staff can assess talent better than the last staff. All of last year was done with Paterno players. OB gave schollie to Brennan & that didnt work clearly. Warner was given svhollie by OB, & doesnt seem to be moving anywhere on the depth chart.
I will grant you this, this staff are better "recruiters" & go after players better, i think they are better coaches with X&Os as well. But i'll wait to see whether they can assess talent better. We are all saying they should offer Truitt, Andrew Ford, Michael Grimm, for ex. But no offer. The old staff wouldnt have given any offers yet, so they were always behind the 8 ball. But they have always had some 2 * players that others passed - J.Hill & K.Carter come to mind recently.
I think it will take more time to learn about the ability to assess talent. but i like everything else about the coaching staff."
