They got out played and out coached. The officiating was terrible but the should not have mattered, Penn State left way to many points on the field. McGloin looked like the McGloin of old.

“Never trust a government that doesn't trust its own citizens with guns.”
What? The kids fought til the end. Like any game between two good teams, a handful of plays made the difference. They have NOTHING to be embarrassed about.
“We need to keep this (expletive) together,” Mauti and Zordich to Hill
I agree! McGloin was not perfect, but he held his own for a playing that was under pressure all night. Now they were out coached, I scratched my head on a few plays that were called.
I was at the game, he missed so many wide open receivers it was disgusting, he under threw a ton of balls too.
Make no mistake, that was a Munson. That offense was offensive. Our OL got dominated, McGloin didn't have time, he made poor decisions (with what little time he had), and our DL couldn't hold when it needed to.
And yet with all of that we still could have one but for:
7 Points: Punt defense hold: leads to 7 OSU points because defense was on for third consecutive series without a breather ( punt block TD put them back on filed immediately and they forced another punt which had the "hold," which is the equivalent of a 1st play offensive turnover; and then had to be out there and stop OSU a third time in a row without the O giving them a breather - OSU score inevitable);
3 points: BOB passing on a 37 yard field goal try to go for 4th and 7 (which became unsuccessful 4th a 12);
4 points - Mauti held on Millers 5 yd TD. Should have been a FG on that possession
1 point: Extra point we would have had if the above did not put is in a hole requiring the 2 point attempt.
So even with all the poor play (Belton KO fumble (poor field position contributed to Moxie's pick 6) mixed in with some tremendous play - particularly by the defense at times; if the refs had just gotten those two blatant screwed up calls correct, we would have had a 15 point game swing and still won by 4 instead of losing by 11.
So, like psujmc1992 said above, a couple plays decided the game. OSU played well and we played pretty well. Could have gone either way. Refs pushed what should have been a very close PSU win into the easy looking win column for OSU.

I only got to see a couple minutes of the game game, I was in the process of driving to Atlanta, but what I can gather from highlights, updates from friends and stats. PSU played great defensively the first half - except for the drive that was kept alive because of the holding call on Bars. The second half the pick-6 just gave OSU the confidence they needed and the PSU defense wore out. We seemed to do well getting to Miller via the pass rush when fresh.
Fagnano is just overmatched. We didn't control time of possession and we gave up the big pass play. You can't let Miller on the field for 70+ play (50 rushing) something big will happen more than once.
Some of the throws, I saw where McGloin (the double move on Roby and the pass to Carter that was knocked out) just doesn't have the arm strength to make those throws. Why not more Zwinack? he seemed to be moving the ball in the second quarter at least better than Belton....
Unfortunately none of the running backs got anything going, Zwinak included. Seemed like OSU's defense decided to wait until the PSU game to play up to their talent level. Lucky us.
