Why does our team seem to play worse in the second half, especially in big games? Are we showing our hand in the first half and allowing them to adjust? I mean we play so well going into the half we really can't change the game plan. The one think I loved about Bradley's defenses was that they made the second half adjustments. I think Roof is a great game plan defense coordinator, but he seems like he gets out schemed after the half, and doesn't adjust. Maybe he should hold more back in the first two quarters. Now in his defense, we cannot at all use multiple personnel groups (nickle, dime, 3-4, ect..) because we don't have any depth so he is pretty much forced to show his hand in the first half.
I think you answered your own question...Depth....I think your starters are as good as most teams, but when they start to wear down that's where you'll see a drop off....shouldn't be a problem unless you face a bunch of no huddle, fast pace offenses, but will be tough when you do...just the number of reps.
