Steele is so good. Makes everything look so effortless
Very nicely done. You should be captain for the first game.

5'10", 190 lbs.
-CB and LB in high school (@145 lbs) in one of the worst leagues in the state.
-Also played baseball
-Great hand eye coordination
-Plenty of skinny-fat
-Ran a sub 4.9 back in the day.
-An accountant, so I would be good as a 7th string QB, holding the clipboard and keeping stats
-Not sure how eligibility works, but I graduated in 4 years, so I may have 1 year left?
I'll be expecting a call from BOB any day now...
What's your thought on the Fleetwood QB that transferred to wyo last year that was denied his appeal to play this year.
My father told me about that (he still lives in Berks, but I am in State College). From what I have heard, and read, he was denied because Fleetwood said he transfered for football and the PIAA agreed with them.
This is a tough one. Ultimately, I *think* he did transfer to play football at Wyo and get a little more recognition from collges. However, there are a few things that make me kind of sit on the fence on this one. On one hand, I hate when schools recruit kids to transfer for football. Allegedly, Wilson used to do that with AB's current coach. Chad Henne, for example, grew up in the coal cracking regions but moved to Wilson to play football. Now that never got questioned because his father worked at Dana in Reading (him and my dad were friends and he even took us up to a couple of PSU games), so it was easy to say that they moved to be closer to work.
In this case, the kid's family claimed that they were moving to Wyo for a better education. I can see that since Wyo is one of the top schools in PA, but then again... it was only for like a year and a half.
Another thing to consider is that this is just a kid. Fleetwood did a really crappy thing, IMO, by fighting this. That school is a soccer school and isn't about to be anything else. If a kid has talent and is stuck in a hole simply because of where they live, I think they should be able to move and play at a new school (as long as their destination school didn't recruit them).
I guess the short answer is... it's complicated, lol.
This thread is great. I'll jump in...
- 6'2" 320 - but I have quick feet and good hands, so play me at FB/H-Back
- Basketball: 2 years HS Varsity basketball; 1 year college intramural; All-Star team in conference tournament (8th Grade)
- Baseball: All-Star summer league teams in 6th and 8th grades
- Football - 1 year (8th Grade): took over starting TE job in one week; caught 8 2-point conversions
- Punt, Pass and Kick: made regional final in 5th Grade (won a trophy)
- HS GPA: 3.6
- College GPA: 3.8
- father of three and high school teacher, so I know how to demoralize younger opponents
- related to a former college and professional football player, so football is in the family
- used wily thinking to de-pants a player (Shaun Stonerook) about to dunk on me in a showcase, later bought him a beer in college as we (okay, he forgot) reminisced over the incident

F the NCAA
F the BOT
Apparently the kid is kinda small, something like 5'11" and 185. His father said in an article that at best probably a D2 recruit.
In another note your guy AA has been moved to FB. I was at their practice the other morning.
6'2'' 230 lbs, hands like stone, can run a good 5 yard out pattern before I get winded and have to sit down.
Does Wyo still run the wing-T? IIRC, their FB was a big part of their offense when we played them in the late 90's.
They do. I don't need to tell you AA looks like a monster out there. In a side note it looked to me like he is playing that hybrid db/lb he played last year.
He will be a monster anywhere he plays in that league. But I like the move to FB for him. I think he is going to really dominate on that side of the ball.
Virtually unbeatable in Fantasy Football League. Champion several times over.
Can make fire.
Able to walk upright for extended periods.
By the way Kerry Collins also transferred in to Wilson from Lebanon.
Yeah, Wilson had been recruiting for years. Now it's not as bad as some of the private schools (like Don Bosco and Paramus in NJ), but they were always good in the Lancaster-Lebanon League (before they moved to the Berks IC 1) and a large part of that was because they recruited. And it wasn't just for football either. We had a really good baseball player at SV who transferred to Wilson around 9th grade. Interstingly enough, my high school Social Studies teacher was Wilson's baseball HC... who then also eventually became this kid's adult league coach...
My LB mate at GM was a wrestling coach at Wilson. He also has a son at GM that could become a big recruit. He's a soph safety and QB that started as a db last year. 6'0 170. Should be fun to watch this year. Both parents PSU grads.
Sounds good. I like to read the Reading Eagle online during football season to keep up with the teams. I'll be following Hamburg this year as a family member got an assistant coaching gig (to go along with a teaching job) on varsity. I'll keep my eye on GM as well to see if a soph starts popping up in the headlines.
I wish the area produced more D1 talent, as I like talking about Berks football. Brings me "home", lol.

I will fill you in when I get a chance.
Nice inclusion of the GPA.
I was more impressed by the height and weight. 42 could be our "Fridge"!
42, FOS was the first message board I had ever been on and I didn't understand the whole avatar thing. Unless we ever meet, I will always picture you looking like the guy in your avatar on that site. Who was he?

Well since sign-ups are still open, I'll be the teams first hybrid. Scratch me in somewhere between Nit_wit and nittany sluggo. I've been known to mix a mean batch of gatorade back in my prime. No IM credentials - i was too lazy. 6' 235 lbs, with sauasages for fingers. Will play for beer.
Ask and yea shall recieve. Article in RE today on GM football. There is a mention of another 2014 kid getting looks from us at OT.

Just read it, thanks for the heads up. Definitely a couple of players to keep an eye on. Really impressed with Morehart's and Johnson's size considering that they aren't seniors yet.
Also, I notice that Wilson is NOT in the Berks 1. I thought they moved there a couple of years ago. That's a shame because I think it would really be good for Berks football as a whole. It would be great if they played in that division and bumped a team like Twin Valley to Berks 2.
