That is our new position in the recruiting standings in both the 247 and comprehensive rankings. Not bad for being handcuffed.
EDIT: With the new commits, PSU has moved up to #18 and #3 in the Big Ten!

Yeah, something tells me PSU won't be going 0-8 in the conference anytime soon.
adding Waters and one more 3-4 star and we're likely top 15.
"A bowl game ain't nothing but a vacation." - Gerald Hodges
PSU will fall as other classes start filling up which is fine. For everything this staff had to endure, a top 5 class in the Big Ten would be a HUGE win IMO. PSU adds Waters and they may end up with the best QB class in the nation IMO. PSU brought in the nations best TE and QB. They have some good OL coming with them. Decent gets at LB. Hamilton will compliment this class quite well at WR. PSU bought in 4-5 DB's where they are really shy and some will be there in January which is huge. For everything this school and program have gone through....I'll take it and just hope this staff does even better in year 2.

Sorry, i apologize for this in advance, but im going to copy/paste what i wrote in another thread.. makes me laugh every time i type it.
hahhaa you know whats funny? This is our first year in the Sanctions and our recruiting ranking is at 18 now. sPITT on the other hand, without sanctions, is sitting pretty at 34.......... let that sink in sPITT fans.. hahah.. Give BOB and the crew one year w/o sanctions and then see wht they are capable of..
PSU >>>>>>>>>>>>>> sPITT
P.S - DJ n TB should take note of this. They are planning to play for a university that has as much of a chance of reaching a bowl game, in the next 3 years, as PSU does...

As above, it would be interesting to see what BOB and the staff can do without sanctions. It's not just the head guy that's closing these deals. His staff is all over it and you gotta believe these kids sense that too. Next year will be even better and the year after that, better than the year before. Just keep Belicheck (sic) alive and kickin' and keep Bob Kraft's phone on mute. Otherwise it's good to go.
As for today 5:27PM
ESPN CLASS RANKING - PSU #25
247Sports CLASS RANKING - PSU #19
RIVALS.com CLASS RANKING - PSU #36
Rivals and Scout have lost all credibility and objectivity in my mind.... just NOT reliable for unbiased rankings or player evaluations.
We will fall. Other schools will pick up their late commits and we will drop because of that. Still a very good class, I can only imagine what this class would look like without the sanctions.
2014 should be an even better class.
BacardiBuckeye: "But in all honesty I like Penn State, I want to see Penn State do good that's why I check this board everyday." 4/2/14
and Scout has us at #35
UCLA got another OL commit (seventh one in this class...), which bumped us down to 19.
I could see us ending up right around 25.
Waters will bump us, as will any ranking for Smith. With the way the rankings work and the later commits being significantly devalued, I think we'll be somewhere from 20-25. Ole Miss will pass us because they're going to pay for, I mean land, some crazy talent. Oklahoma will pass us. Not sure who's on Nebraska's board or how many spots they have left, but they will pass us if they have a decent amount of room left. Virginia might as well. UCLA and the SEC schools right below us could too, we all know those SEC schools could end up with about 47 commits when all is said and done. We could also conceivably pass USCe, Miss St, Washington and UNC if they're near their limits, which I have no idea.
Waters would certainly help. I just think other schools are in on good talent as well, and should be able to take more commits than we will. Maybe not a lot more, but possibly enough to make a difference.
We are going to end up around 30 in the composite. JMO.
I would be happy with a top 25 finish but around 30 sounds about right...
