I truly think he will be. I've been around him and his staff enough to put full faith into them to not just field a winning team, but to actually build a stable program.
The perfect gift to add to your Christmas list or to buy for a PSUer in your family
This has me excited for PSU b-ball in the coming years. Finally a coach who can recruit and get quality players.
Has Chambers gotten any sleep recently? A flurry of commitments and transfers.
Article below has been updated with quotes from Shep Garner

The guy works as hard as anyone. We really are lucky to have him and like I've said before, if Chambers can't turn this program around, I'm not sure many can.
This is how a kid like Garner could open the floodgates...
Great Valley forward Mikal Bridges will visit Penn State on Saturday, according to new Nittany Lions oral commit Shep Garner.
bridges would be a crazy pick up
Bridges may be a tough get. He visited Nova a few weeks ago and they offered along w Florida.
Garner had offers from Memphis, Florida, Arizona, however not Nova.
Yea, Nova is the team that worries me.
He plays AAU with Garner so that certainly helps us. In all honesty, Nova doesn't scare me here but I'm sure this kid will get other bigger offers. We MUST have a big year this year. The way Chambers packed the roster with transfers and a final year from Frazier this is a showcase year for him. Gotta show he can win.
This is huge, great get for Chambers. Getting the talent to State College...
Spread - Here's hoping your instincts are correct.
Would love to add bridges and let jon Graham call it quits since he will graduate this year....
Man, it is so nice to see us getting some big recruits from some pipeline type schools! Really excited to get to some games this year.
I am hopeful, because Shep is a stud... But aren't we full for 2014? I'm sure we make room for a kid like Bridges, but how? Just wondering how we would get the extra ship. I dont care what needs to be done lol If Bridges wants in, do it.
WE ARE! And we will always be...
NCAA schools average one transfer a year. PSU is no exception (in fact, we actually average higher than that). It makes logical sense to recruit with that expectation. Look at this year for example. For a while, we had more commitments than we had spots for. Then suddenly, Ackerman, Borovnnjak, and Marshall decide to transfer/leave and we have two openings. Who knows what could happen following next season.
c ya graham, hopefully we could get bridges or terrier, add some more length and talent
For many years it was common to assume we could't get Philly kids. My thoughts were that you can't get them if you don't try. Chambers is working that area hard and it is paying off.
I feel confident that we will be seeing much better basketball from the Lions in the near future.
Ah, Graham would be an ideal candidate... His game is... eh. Let him get his degree, then wave goodbye...
As someone mentioned, we MUST win this year. Frazier, Newbill, and Roberts have a chance to really do some damage and Taylor is a guy who could give us something at the four. But we need something inside. We win ths year and we should be able to hold onto these kids and maybe get some more at this caliber.
Amazing how far Pat has brought recruiting. Everyone coming in had serious offers and the recent commits are even top 100 level guys. Incredible.
“We’re doing things we couldn’t imagine,” says safety Stephen Obeng-Agyapong. “But we’re doing them together.”
A real good vibe happening for PC and the program. If these Philly kids come in and play, even decent, the pipeline will come.
I think you're snubbing Ross Travis here, as I think he'll have more impact on the season than BT (and that's not meant to be a slight at BT). With that said, the X-factor in my mind is John Johnson.
Don't forget about Jack. He had some promising moments before getting injured.
The two are really different kinds of players. Taylor should make the greatest strides of anyone on the team this year. Travis will never get the credit he deserves as he doesn't put up gaudy stats, but he was strong at the end of the season. If he can hit some jumpers next year, he'll have a really good year. His rebounding numbers are fantastic, considering his height limitations. Taylor likes to play more away from the basket, although he was the only one on the team that showed the ability to back a defender down this season. If he can learn how to better utilize his body, his ceiling is a lot higher than Travis'. I think Chambers is really going to focus on developing Taylor and give him every opportunity to shine, as he'll be a pivotal transition player as the team loses players like Frazier and brings in this new wave of PSU players (who have more potential then we've seen of previous teams).
