  • I took a look at the Official PSU Athletic Roster and came up with the following list of players on the roster that are not listed on page 1 of this thread. PSU's roster does not include the incoming freshman class (2012 recruits). Also, the position I've listed all come from the PSU website:

    Howle - C

    Terry - DT
    Refice - FB
    Zerbe - FB
    Christie - G
    Davie - G
    Furhman - KS
    Boyce - LB
    Fortt - LB

    The majority of these guys appear to be walk-ons. In addition, some of these guys are Seniors (Terry, Van Fleet, Yancich) and would be expected back. Further, some of these guys we've talked in length about (Fortt, Haplea, Redd, Bolden, Zwinak). Regardless, this appears to be the entire list (again, excluding the incoming freshman class).

    I think I saw something where he said he would still want to come to PSU even with all of these sanctions. I agree, I'd offer him at this point.

  • Family sources have confirmed that backup center Ty Howle will return to Penn State. Howle will miss most of the season with a torn pec.

    Rule change there. Players who have missed two seasons because of injuries can apply for sixth year at any time.

    I believe it's safe to assume that Bolden, Haplea, and Fera are gone.

    The remaining notables are in three position groups:
    RB: Redd, Dukes, Zwinak, Lynch
    WR: Brown, Kersey, Moseby-Felder
    LB: Fortt, Hull

    FWIW, BOB said on the radio this morning that he expects all the RB's to return. Dukes has said he's open to Syracuse, but they haven't contacted him. Also, article on Hull said that staff IS tinkering with switching to 3-4 in which case he would be more tempted to stay. Hull is considering Pitt, WVU, and Michigan if he leaves.

He is the #1 target in a new passing offense (although our QB isn't great). Some people just don't care to come out and state it I guess, but Brown seems to like PSU a lot. Common sense tells me Brown is amongst the 5-10 most likely on the team to return (I know you could say the same for Redd but I could list a few reasons why I think Brown would have been even more likely to stay). I will eat crow if he leaves but I really don't think it will happen.

    At this point, keeping Hack is the key to the class. Losing DJ would be a blow (and I think it's pretty likely he doesn't stay), but losing Hack could start a major domino effect.

    I would include him in my 'staying' group as well. Just being cautious since nothing definitive has been stated. I'm guessing Moseby-Felder is back as well, but Kersey may be on the move...which has been in the works for 3 years. Regardless, we have a lot of young WR's. LB is a bit lighter. RB is totally up in the air until Silas makes a decision.

    Considering no recruiting sources have said anything, I'm suspicious. Not saying its false, just unverified

    If true, it doesnt sound good if DJ couldnt make it to state college to be with the other recruits but made it to WVU.

    I would also put Pollard near the top of the must keep list.
