Interesting that BOB seems to have made the decision without input from the rest of the staff.

Ultimately it's his call but I doubt he did or will make the decision without input from the rest of the staff. He put a quality, experienced staff in place. This is the type of important decision that you would want the rest of the staff on board with because your starting QB has an impact on the entire team dynamic.

That's what I would have thought but the article suggests otherwise and that he just wanted to tell the staff before he made it public. Maybe Jeff can clarify?

Didn't BOB say he wanted to hire people who were somewhat strong willed and not just "yes" coaches?

From reading the article, I can see where you formed that opinion. The decision IMO isn't one that you make without gaining as much info or opinions as you can from staff. I'm sure BOB has had many conversations with guys like Fisher and Hixon, for example, through the spring. The recent caravan shouldn't have kept him from communicating with staff members and completing his job responsibilities. It's unlikely to me that he hasn't talked to the staff about the team since spring practice ended.

I remember him saying something like that in an early interview or two. He certainly brought in or retained some experienced guys so in theory they shouldn't hesitate to speak their piece.

Well, I have to say, it will be nice to not have the seemingly endless 'Bolden or McGloin' arguments all summer long and then into the fall. I may not be happy about who BOB chooses but I will get behind the decision. Why? Because we finally have experienced QB coaches teaching them up and making the decision.
