My wife and i attended an easter seals function to benefit a friends child who has cerebral palsy. They had a bunch of silent auction stuff but 2 in particular caught my attention: a joe paterno autographed helmet and a football, autographed by Joe.
Before we left the bid on the helmet was $200. I put a bid down of $325 and it went for 350. BUT we won the autographed football.
I need some help finding a nice case. The ball is flat and in a box. Do I inflate it? Do i leave it in the box?
I would inflate it but others might disagree. if you inflate it, you could get a real nice case to display it in. Amazon is usually where I get my cases.

Its a nike 3500 with Joe's signature in silver marker. Its deflated but still in the box with the tips covered
Inflate it, display it and enjoy it.
I have never understood the collectors that do not enjoy their collections, but just store them because the item would lose its value. (Not implying you are one of them).
To me, Jay Leno and his cars are the epitome of how a collector should enjoy his collection.
My son bought a football display case at AC Moore if you have one of those around. You can probably look it up online. I have two that Joe signed, one from "An evening with Joe" banquet, and another from a charity auction. The charity auction sits in its original cardboard box with the letter from PSU requesting 'only every other year' so I keep that intact, but the one my wife got signed is on display. It also has about 60-70 players signings from B-W games.

I have the signed Joe Paterno "game used" football from the Rose Bowl with both USC and PSU logo's. It's so awesome and I have it in a case and displayed in my home office. Have lighting on it and it is so sweet!!! Highly recommend a good case, good lighting, and display it proud. Definitely inflate it and show it off!!

Im not sure if its this seller, but I have a few of these cases. My father has given me a football every year since I was a kid, since Im older now he gets me a signed ball (Elway, Favre, Polamalu, JoePa/Bradley, etc).
They arent top line quality but they do the job well.
