Totally agree with this... chip kelly has a college system and is a college coach. Unless some team is stupid enough to make him GM and coach a la Pete Carroll, there is no way he should go to the NFL and even if they do he still shouldn't go.

Seattle and San Fran look pretty good this year...

Straight over your head. He isn't saying college coaches can't be successful in the NFL.

Was quickly scanning it in my phone. Ur talking about his scheme. Gotcha. Yeah, he'll have to adjust that. I don't think it will work in the league

  • Petersen has turned down better jobs than Arkansas. I'd be shocked if that's where he ended up.

But those are two different dudes that spent time in the NFL... And SF has a great GM in Trent Baalke. Pete Carroll was an NFL coach who had success in college and went back to the NFL. Pete spent most of his career in the NFL before USC and knew the ins and out of NFL life and personnel. Chip Kelly would be much better off at a Texas than at Cleveland. Remember like 6 years ago Chip kelly was the OC at New Hampshire and he's spent most of his time in the lower levels of college football.

  • I have to imagine that finding the dual threat QB that could be successful in the NFL with that system would be much tougher than just recruiting one out of HS. That would be the biggest thing holding back that system in the NFL IMO. That and the faster pace NFL players can play at would take away from the overall team speed advantage that Oregon holds in college

New challenge. More cash. Better conference. Not in Oklahoma.

Also heard he hates his AD, but that may have been from here.

I agree with blackshoes, I think OkieState is where he fits in the best.

He may think differently. IMO if he leaves its because of the AD and more money from somebody else.

He has come closer than any other OkieState coach to making Oklahoma a split state. Granted, that is nowhere close, but its still better than any other coach has done there.

I think him leaving would be a mistake. JMO.
I also don't think Peterson leaves for Arkansas, unless they have some great special care hospital for his kid.

‏@Cordale10 Why should we have to go to class if we came here to play FOOTBALL, we ain't come to play SCHOOL, classes are POINTLESS

How about Trey Johnson? Roof should go camp out on his front lawn.

OSU v. Florida battle IMO for him.

I agree. Chad Morris the Clemson OC is another guy I guess NC state would be interested in.

That is who Kentucky should go after.

Lots of good jobs open this year. SEC is undergoing a major overhaul. Ark, Auburn, Tenn, Kentucky. Wouldn't be shocked if Mullen bolts and MSU is looking too. Same with Freeze at Ole Miss. Half the jobs in the conference may end up open.

And LOL at Reuben Foster's tattoo.

I can see Mullen at Tennessee without question.

Anyone think Lane Kiffin will be added to this list?

Actually, I can see it happening. Remember, Haden didn't hire him - Garrett did. Kiffen has brought alot of negative publicity to that athletic department too.

A popular rumor floating...Arkansas' top target is Chris Petersen. Boise has already reached out to former OC Brent Pease (current OC at UF) in case Petersen leaves.

I don't see Petersen being a fit in Fayetteville, if people get my drift.

    I can too.

If he takes his DC, OL coach (recruiter) and strength coach with him that could be a very good hire for Tennessee.

IMO Dooley did most of the heavy lifting to clear out the garbage on that roster, now a good gameday coach can step in and move that program forward.

I was disappointed by Mullen this season though. He had a chance to make a statement and MSU fell on their faces every time they were in the spotlight.

MSU south loaded up on cupcakes early and moved all the way to 10, then the schedule really started for them.

i don't get your drift, but I agree that he doesn't fit there.

Arkansas has proven that they want to win badly, and are willing to spend the money it takes to do that.

Personally, I'm surprised Kirby Smart's name isn't being thrown around more. I spoke to a few Texas fans over break about who would replace Mack if he stepped down and Smart was the most common answer.

Peterson seems to be a good natured guy with little crook in him. Add on his religious beliefs, I'm not sure that flies in Arkansas.

Yep. They still had a shot to do something pretty impressive, and got their doors blown off by Bama, aTm, LSU, and Ole Miss, and lost 4 out of their last 5.

Some very tough teams in that stretch for sure, but Mullen should've killed Ole Miss and IMO aTm and LSU shouldn't have been that bad. I understand that Bama can do that to teams, but aTm is vulnerable and LSU's offense should keep any SEC opponent in the game.

JMO. I was and still am a Mullen fan, but I was disappointed with what happened this season. Should've been at least one win better, possibly two.

At this point, I'm not sure the Arkansas fanbase cares if they hire a Buddhist monk. As long as that coach wins, they will look past whatever personal flaws that person may have.

I agree though. I don't think Peterson accepts the job. Seems he's either Boise/Oregon or bust. He would consider the Texas/USC jobs and programs of that level, but I don't think he leaves for anything less than that. JMO.

Also, I see the SEC culture as a detriment to a guy like Peterson. It can take time to implement a program and a mindset, and SEC fanbases have shown they do not have the patience to wait for a slowly developing program. A school like Vanderbilt will wait on Franklin, but that is because football has not ever been a serious part of their culture. A school like Arkansas isn't that way though.

Frank Spaziani out at Boston College...

You know who makes sense for BC in this respect and I'm not sure they want to go down this road, but the guy that was canned from his job in Raleigh. TOB did well at BC ... seemed to know how to develop those under the radar guys there that he couldn't at NC State. No buyout for BC either.
