I definitely understand the need for the safest equipment possible. I remember seeing a study done sometime in the past year, that stated the differences between most of the new helmets are minimal in terms of protecting the head. Who knows whether the study was flawed or not. I know it's a minor change, but it makes me miss Joe and his preference for traditional/basic things.

Willis has a Revo helmet, like the ones Oregon wears...

Agreed 100% The Riddell helmets are def the helmets of choice anymore in football. I would be wiling to bet that the majority of the team will have them by the time the season begins. I personally think there pretty cool looking and i like the way BOB is letting these kids change things up abit.

the new helmets are very comparable but fit differently. now the difference in safety between the new helmets and the older model Riddell helmets that many pros wear is huge. no clue why teams let players wear clearly inferior equipment.

Not at all. That was based on the DNA, ION, and Revolution Speed having the same quality of protection for the head. If they are all similar, I like the look of the DNA and ION better. If one provides better protection than the other, I'd prefer they go with the safer option.
