It's like a dream has come true - we can go back to Pre-2004 nonsense. No more "Scare a Badger Wave a Towel" Or "Favorite Jersey Day" Or "70s Day" or non-stop "Lady Gaga" playing over the blue band.
Does this mean we can have the old scripted endzone back - get rid of the "Microphone Guy" and stop singing Sweet Caroline going into the 4th quarter down a myriad of points against a top-25 team like Alabama?

My big complains are "Sweet Caroline" (zzzzz), "Mic Guy" (ugh), and "Living on a Prayer" (really? is that the right message?). Otherwise, I like the atmosphere. It's awesome when we're actually winning big games.
I also have the same complaint that someone else mentioned about the frustrating use (or lack there of) of the jumbotron, but from what I understand there are B10 rules with limits on what replays can or can't be shown.

Remember folks - the stadium expansion has helped keep the noise in. We don't need AAA baseball antics - we need the blue band, a passionate fan base and old people to realize it's acceptable to stand-up and yell on 3rd down

If anything, I'd stop the stupid Sandstorm tease they have, and actually play the damn song. Kids are always complaining when they stop it short because they want to jump around to it.
It may not be traditional, but if we are to keep the homefield advantage we need to make sure the students are fired up.

OMFG, SO TRUE!
Sandstorm is just about ready to DROP, and they cut it off! They cut it off literally at the WORST time. I would love to know who's bright idea that was.
Zombie Nation, Sandstorm, Blur Song 2, and the White Strips. Love all that at the game!
I get that people... err chicks... like singing "Living on a Prayer" and all, but save that for the G-Man after the game. You can't be playing a song called "Living on a Prayer" at a football game -- Unless it's for the OTHER team. I can't think of a more insulting song to play for our team.

I think that was one of the biggest issues with Guido and a lot of his changes. He made it much more about the students than the rest of the fans. He wanted to engage them and get them more involved. That at times put him at odds with "old school" alum that were used to the same old, same old each and every game. Guido and Joe knew that a better, more involved student section would help transform the entire stadium.
Some if it reminds me of being a student at PSU and watching games at Rec Hall. Although our basketball teams while I were there ran from terrible to average, Rec Hall was still fun to me and my friends because we were basically on the floor and within an arms reach of the Fab 5 or Bobby Knight. We stood the entire game. We made a lot of noise. However, I remember we used to fight with the alum that sat in the seats behind us because they did not want to stand the entire game. To us, the alum were out of touch and did not understand that it was OUR school and we were helping the team, while they were hurting the team by wanting to sit down and golf clap from time to time or yell out "We are Penn State" at timeouts.

Exactly.
I'm student, so obviously I don't sympathize, but seeing the fans outside of the student section sitting the entire game and seemingly refusing to stand up on 3rd downs frustrates me to no end.
We're the reason our venue is intimidating, and its something I feel our alumni should take pride in. If people want to golf clap and listen to the band they should go to State College High games.
JMO, no disrespect intended to the older alumni.
