Exactly. We are 8-1 against all the elite and powerhouse teams we have played. Oh wait........Yup, the offense isn't hurting this team at all. Not one bit....no. Let me know when our offense does something against a good defense. When it does, I will be first to congratulate them. Until them, let's not ignore the teams and level of competition we are playing while saying our offense won't be a problem. You honestly think our offense won't hurt when playing a good defense?? Yup Alot of other teams would die for our schedule. Think we'd be 8-1 in the SEC? Scratch that, I already know you do.

Joe sucks...Jay sucks....all the coaches suck....the players suck...the recruits all suck...the opponents suck....even the cheerleaders and and the band and the trainers suck. If the fans were in charge PSU would vastly improve to 9 - 0 instead of 8 - 1. And PSU will lose all the rest of their games this season and every other season until Joe retires.

  • Is the offensive line good? No way, but I don't think they're that bad. They don't give up a bad amount of sacks, and despite Redd earning a lot of yards, he's still gone for over 125 in four straight conference games. So while they could be a lot better, the quarterback situation is what is killing the offense. But to credit the offense a little, they have made two very important drives with their back against the wall. Maybe they need to play with more urgency. Leadership?

Uhmmmm no back blocks except Green? You better rewind yesterday's game and watch #9 every play. I doubt if you'll see a better blocking performance by any back in the nation this past weekend. And the Offense is killing us so badly that we are 1 - 8....oooops make that 8 - 1....but every week since the opener we are told that THIS week the doo-doo will definitely hit the fan and PSU will pay for having a weak Offense. Maybe it might this week...but to date, 8 - 1 is a record that Wiskey and a lot of other teams would die for.

We're 8-1 because of our defense and because other teams make bad mistakes at critical times. PERIOD!!!

With just an average D, we are 5-4 right now.

We went into this season knowing that the defense was going to be good, and the offense just has to not lose games. Sound familiar? This approach allowed someone to win 409 games. Lets just hope Bolden is done. MM will not lose games IMO..just needs to sustain field position. This is a throwback Paterno team that we should be enjoying. Let the old fart have a few more games down memory lane!!!

...and if you're not down with that, then I got 2 words for ya.."suck it!!"

  • It's odd how only certain games can count for PSU like some other teams are playing much better schedules in the BT. 5-6 weeks ago no way in hell did most think PSU would be sitting at 8-1. We can see there are some big holes on the O, but nobody ever wrote a rule saying you can't win ugly. I didn't see the few here complaining say PSU would cruise to 8-1 and maybe they are pissed because of it.

I know it's a long shot, but I want PSU to win as many as they can in November. 1, 2, or even all 3. At this point we can't expect anything other than an ugly W, but I'll take it. If that is taboo...sorry, but I'd rather see the team win than some other BS because Joe is the HC.

Right on!! An ugly win is better than a loss. This is the type of team that can surprise a lot of people, and that opponents HATE to play. No one wants to face a team with a great defense and a team that has a chip on its shoulder because it is being shown no respect.

Let's not kid ourselves though into thinking we have dominated D all game and led close games all season. We won 2 games by last minute drives. (temple and illinois) .

Yes, we are 8-1, But there's one thing with realizing that......and realizing that knowing we EASILY could be staring at 2-3 more losses. It's called being realistic and not getting carried away by the record. Even a great D needs an offense to come through more than just on last minute drives. That won't work vs the teams we are coming up to face. We need an offense because OSU and even Neb and Wisconsin can give our O fits.

Our defense has dominated this year. Dont try to tell me otherwise. Give credit where credit is due.

I think everyone realizes that the defense has been dominant. If not for that unit, this is a three or four win team right now - not eight.

Saying that this is a team people hate to play is a bit much. Defensively, absolutely. I'm pretty sure defenses lick their chops to get a crack at our offense. Indiana wasn't scared of facing the PSU offense.

  • I suppose Penn State is the only team to have any squeaker wins?? Glad to see that all the other good teams have blown all their competition away. It amazes me that we can be sitting at 8-1 and people are bit**ing about how we got here. Really?? We are freak'n 8-1!! Let's be happy for crying out loud. The D has carried us for a good part of the season. But let's now forget the D was not good as a whole against Northwestern and the Offense (led by Redd and MM) carried us to a win. I actually like our chances against Neb and OSU. Not saying we are going to win but I like our chances. Our D has the ability to shut down both of those one-dimensional offenses and our O has the ability to put points on the board. When Redd is running well, the pass opens up. @ Wisky is going to be tough but hopefully we will still have a cushion going into that game.\

With regards to Bolden, it is not the coaching staff that has failed him. Do not forget that RB came from a run offense in HS. He doesn't read the defense well and is blind as a bat in the pocket. He was good early on because defenses respected his arm strength. After watching his pocket presence, teams are blitzing him every play because they know he cannot read it. If you really believe that the coaches haven't tried to work with him on that than you are really not that intelligent. He just doesn't get it and it appears he will never get it. Quit the talk about how if he went to a real school he would have been red-shirted last year and developed. He wouldn't have accepted a RS anywhere without threatening to transfer. He has proven that his dad has obviously misinformed him that he is D1 stud QB. He simply is not and is very far from that. Attitude is part of that. Look at Stephon Green for example. The kid has screwed up a lot off the field but I don't think you could find a better teammate on the sideline whether he plays or not. The kid just cares about his team and PSU. It is obvious RB does not. If that is the case, then he should transfer and Joe should let him go. He only hurts team chemistry. If you watch some fo the games from earlier this year, you consistently see the WRs shaking their heads at half of the passes that RB throws during the game.

I've gotta laugh at " you consistently see the WRs shaking their heads at half of the passes that RB throws during the game" comment.

We have 2 QBs whose play really sux. Moxie to date is a tad better than RB. Attributing "thinking" to our pathetic WRs is just wrong! Anyway, despite our pathetic QB play our Defense is elite enough to help deliver a B1G conference title. But, the QB/WR play may very well negate that, and I don't care who the QB is, both SUK! JMHO

    Cheers!

II guess you wouldn care that bolden would go in the during the final minute of the game. hmmm I would care who the qb would be in that kind situatuion. Matt had a bad game but during the last drive he came through for the team.

kdog, Bolden did just that against Temple already. Both QBs suk. That's my story and I'm sticking to it!

im not arguing with that i know they are bad not equally bad but not once in my post im saying mcgloin is good i said he had a good final drive. you pointed out you dont care who the qb is and thats fine im just clarifying the final drive of the game in case you forgot.

Didn't forget and thanks for pointing that out. MM looked "Fantastic" that last drive. Just looked like crap the previous 58 mins. I really wish we have a standout QB this year! Just have to deal with MM's Jeckyl & Hyde thing and RBs degeneration. I'm not an RB #Bolden guy or a MM #McMoxie guy, I'd just like to see some serious production from the QB spot this year for cry'n out loud!

exactly, i was fine with bolden getting a shot in the second half i couldn't aruge,i was very excited in fact because Mcgloin was not productive at all during the first half i was hoping for some type of spark. but he only turned to out be worse then Mcgloin. Its Mental as everyone could see. and i think we will see bolden again if matts not productive again as he was in the first and 3rd half. my dad said the only way penn state going to win if silas gets in the endzone. and it made me think how sad its is to rely on a running back to have good game all time in order to win. Not once this year the team has won because of the MM or RB perfomence its been the D and the running backs who won it

I don't think we'll see Bolden again if McGloin struggles. You know the difference between the two? McGloin overcomes those struggles later in the game. He has the passion, leadership and confidence (in himself and the team) that this team needs, whereas Bolden does not.

It was much better wasting 3 quarters with the other scrub on the field.

    zzzzzz

And no...what did us in was your guy doing NOTHING for his 3 quarters until a miracle happened. But yeah you're right. Let's blame RB in his 1 quarter of work for the reason we were down late in the game. NOT the guy who actually played 3 full quarters until the final 2 minutes.

MM did more in one throw than the scrub did in his whole quarter. You really are the only one left in Bolden's corner.
