get their early and players will sign your kids stuff, which was a highlight for me as a kid, um im lost after that one though...usaully cute psu girls have face paint and are actually pretty good at making PSU or the lion on someones cheek

    This is my first post.
Question: Do you need tickets for the autograph session?I'm thinking of bringing my sons down for the weekend. We've
never been to JOE PATERNO STADIUM.

Unless they have changed the process, it has always been open admission to the field for autographs. Just make sure you get there early because it gets pretty crowded if it's a nice day.

    This.

Get there early but not just for autographs. Theres a parade before the game, theres a carnival that goes on from early morning to evening for three days straight. Theres tailgaiting. Get there very early and have a good time all day long. There may be a baseball game after the Blue/White game to hit up.

If you head into town, you'll most likely find autographs of former greats like MRob for a small amount thats always donanted to charity. Last year Royster was signing autographs for free.

  • Does the Student Book Store (big blue on the corner) still hold their autograph sessions with former players? Does anyone know if they posted a schedule or where I might be able to find it?

They did last year. Thats where MRob was. Dont know anything about a schedule yet but I'm sure as it gets closer you can check their website and get more info.

  • Thanks for the info! I thought you were talking about SBS, but I just wanted to make sure.

  • Anyone doing this? Obviously it's for a great cause. Havent seen it posted so I thought I would share the info. Just heard about it on WIP in Philly, who ironically has spent a lot of air time trying to destroy JoePa's legacy before and after his passing. Yet will air a commercial asking people to pay tribute to his legacy.

  • Looks I'm heading down for the game with my sons! As far as the autographs for the kids, is there a certain area to go at the stadium ? Also, are the seats for the game general admission?

    NittnyLion14

  • No charge for tickets to the game and no assigned seats. First come - first served. It is a great time to bring young kids. They also have the carnival. Just hope for nice weather.

Didn't want to start a new thread, but any word on STEP/seasoning ticket sales for next season?

I think the interest will be at an all-time high and hope that a lot of people will be eating crow about the effect of a "no-name" coach on sales.

Last I heard, season ticket sales were down 15k-18k. Is that true? Don't know, but it came from a reliable person. Winning fixes all, and there are many who will remain stubborn in eating crow until the W's pile up. If BOB doesn't get off to a fast start, I think attendance will suffer in 2012. There are still plenty of skeptics out there.

Winning also allows for better game times. At this point, we could be facing only two non-noon home game times. The home schedule, minus OSU and Wisconsin, isn't that great. If we need to sell a lot of single game tickets, noon starts aren't going to get the job done.

  • I was just checking to make sure that admission to the game is free. I was at tO$U site and you actually have to buy tickets for their game. Doesn't surprise me - but I wanted to make sure that ours is free. Thanks for the help. WE ARE…

That's cool. I know they think they are all that and a bag of chips, but charging for the spring game caught me off guard. Makes sense - thanks.
