WTF...I know that they said changes would come to the game day experience, but I about fell over when I saw that there was no Saphire, instead some guy prancing and twirling..puke

It can't be worse than the flag guy I saw at an ASU game a few years ago. Literally, a fat guy wearing a skin tight, bright yellow outfit.

hes been the guy since blondie moved on, she was amazing....people will prob downvote but people call him the blueball sapphire now

umm....this is Matt's third year as feature twirler. He's a multiple time world champion and a great guy. If you really have a problem with him doing what he loves (and does better than anyone else on the planet) on Saturdays in Beaver Stadium, you probably have some personal issues to work out.

There has been at least one other guy who was blue sapphire in early 90's. A black guy who can throw the hell out of a baton. Saw him at homecoming one time, dude was extremely talented. Wish I was as good at anything as he was at twirling. My wife was a member of Touch of Blue shortly after he was there.
Why some of you guys have a problem with this is beyond me. Guess some never get out of the 7th grade mindset.

There is nothing wrong with it but when I first saw him it was definitely a WTF moment. Some things just don't fit and that was kinda one of them. Like if a team had a chick starting at middle linebacker. Good for her but it would take a while for me to wrap my mind around it.

Really just joking around..Man. Let me be clear I don't have anything against any guy who takes up twirling. Those guys are clearly talented whipping that sucker way up in the air and catching it - it is very impressive and I could not do it. Add fire to it and it is even better. But come on guys, what are we hot house flowers??! I hope some of you guys are not still in school preparing to make your way in the world cause its gonna get pretty tough out there. As for me, I doing pretty well praise the Lord..

I don't care if the feature twirler is a guy or a girl. Truth is, the kid is absolutely amazing. I have yet to ever see a miscue on his part. We watch him all the time (I attend the games with my 5 and 10 year old daughters). He is hands down incredible.

You should see the reaction of these people when we told them a we freed the slaves and woman were allowed to hold jobs just like real men. I didn't tell them that members of the same sex can marry in certain states yet...
