There has been at least one other guy who was blue sapphire in early 90's. A black guy who can throw the hell out of a baton. Saw him at homecoming one time, dude was extremely talented. Wish I was as good at anything as he was at twirling. My wife was a member of Touch of Blue shortly after he was there.
Why some of you guys have a problem with this is beyond me. Guess some never get out of the 7th grade mindset.
If winning was easy even losers would do it.

umm....this is Matt's third year as feature twirler. He's a multiple time world champion and a great guy. If you really have a problem with him doing what he loves (and does better than anyone else on the planet) on Saturdays in Beaver Stadium, you probably have some personal issues to work out.
