  • Yeah there was an article on our 247 site called "The one I wanted most" in regards to his MSU offer. Home schools are sometimes hard to turn down though. I'm not an expert, but his film is pretty awesome. He's a versatile athlete. It seems like your defense has really arrived when you've got kids who's highlight tape is filled with that many offensive plays and you still keep him on the defensive side of the ball. Our staff will be on campus to watch his team mate Damion Terry throw on teh 13th. He's certainly gonna get alot of attention from both of our staffs. See how it plays out. Good luck to you boys. The league is more fun when the Lions are good.

Except at around 1:40, it seems like he just ran straight out of bounds. Otherwise, I like this guy. He does not seem fast, but it seems like he has a long stride (like Terrelle Pryor) and gets it done.

I like him, though not as much as some of our other targets. At this point, though, I trust the evaluations of the PSU staff (and MSU staff, considering the diamonds in the rough they've found).

One thing I'll mention - without being sure how much film you've seen, I don't believe Erie plays good competition. It's one of those situations where he ought to be dominating if he's good enough to play D1.

Our staff has been very meticulous about measurables, too. They've consistently wanted to see kids in person to make sure the sizes are legit. If not, they don't tend to offer. Since Williams has already been on campus at PSU, I assume his size is legit.

Thanks for stopping over and commenting.

  • psubills62, I agree 100%. Too many of these 6'2 210 kids who run a 4.42 40 actually get to a combine and measure out at 6'0 195 and run a 4.56. You guys look to be in for a great recruiting cycle. Former pro coaches have some cache with kids and the guys that utilize that in their pitch kill it on the recruiting trail. It was nauseating to watch Greg Mattison in action over the last year at michigan. Everyone is the next Ray Lewis, but whatever, it works. Thanks for the kind words. Go B1G!

    Hey Skip,

Just wanted to say how refreshing it is to have fans of other teams post here in the spirit of good competition. Unfortunately it's not the norm... Good luck this season!

There's a picture where Williams and Damion Terry are wearing PSU jerseys Williams appears to be about 2 inches shorter than Terry who is universally listed as 6'4''. Looks like he's the real deal as far as measurables.

  • Cathedral Prep travels somewhat well but only takes on a handful of decent teams. NEXT year they will be making huge changes to their schedule.... they're gonna go after taking on tons of the big boys from Ohio, Pittsburgh region, etc.

Won't be a problem wondering if the game tape is against good competition this coming Fall.

    Please keep beating Michigan.

I'm a little surprised by the Duke offer considering he is from Erie ... that is a generalization though.

  • It sounds like you guys are recruiting him basically the same way as us (ATH). The kids just a great athlete and it will be interesting to see which position he'll end up playing in college.
I know I was suprised that both Williams and Terry hadn't gotten a lot of attention from in state schools... let the games begin.

  • You know with each post from another team's fan, the trend becomes more and more apparent. I don't know why I needed more evidence to support this theory, but...

EVERY B1G Team has fans classier than those at O$U.

This being said, I know I shouldn't generalize, as I personally know a few Buckeye fans that are not obnoxious in the least. But the postings on this board dictate otherwise.

I lived in Ohio for 6 years before moving back to Michigan and while there are a few fans that are "decent" the majority of OSU fans are really only civil if you're talking about how great they are.

And the only reason you don't think Michigan fans are more civil than OSU fans is because the interwebs hasn't been connected to their trailer parks yet. But, perhaps I'm a bit biased. ;)

Terry is a solid qb prospect we were fortunate to have some big fish interested and landed Hackenberg early enough cool recruiting on the position. When Terry came on the radar last season I watched his junior film and came away impressed. Who knows if we would have come through with an offer or not but I think missing on a few DB prospects thus far has landed Delton his offer.
