Yeah. I think that UVA, UNC, NC St., VT, GT, FSU, Clemson and maybe Miami all have outs. What you are left with is...
-Pitt -Cuse -BC -Duke -Wake -Louisville
Add in USF, UConn, Cincy and maybe UCF, and that is the new Big East/ACC. Maybe two more lucky dogs make it out of the Big East.

Think Duke might have an out? Fits the BIG, but I think they take two more and its UNC and UVA; it doesn't fit the SEC or Big 12 (whatever the hell they are called these days).
VPI and NC State could go to the SEC; FSU and Clemson to the Big 12 (neither will be allowed in the SEC).

there is no doubt that the "Catholic" BB schools are going to be shut out of power ( lose the voting majority to FB schools). Their best bet is to get out as soon as they can to avoid the huge "Buy OUT" when the FB schools take over power.
The real question will be how the money that is currently in the bank gets split up.
It may mean that the only school to pay the exit fee will be WVU, and my money is on them fighting it.
Bottom line ....THE BIG EAST IS DEAD.

Yeah, I think they would have an out if they were to go with UNC. The problem is, as you mention, the most likely destination (the Big Ten) only has two more spots, and I don't think they want to use them on two NC schools. I could see UNC being stupid and sticking with the sinking ship. I could also see the Big Ten saying "F it, we are just going to dominate the east coast markets" and add UVA, UNC, Duke, GT, Cuse and Miami to get to 20. But right now I think the strategy is to hope to create enough chaos that the Big XII and SEC eat away at the conference first in hopes that ND comes calling (highly unlikely, IMO).

Big East on life support.....
