I wasn't following recruiting at the time, but I get the impression that literally no one knew Norwood or Butler or Hull, guys like that, would end up being very good college players.

That's the way I looked at it also. Amos and Gilliam don't fit the criteria IMO. Butler and Norwood were both way below the radar.

Shane Conilin and Jack Ham are two pretty good low profile recruits that virtually nobody else offered.

He was a USA Today AA, not Parade AA. Jeramiah Young and Dorian Bell were the only Parade AA's from PA in 2009. Outside of PSUsites and USA Today the wasn't a lot of love for Gilliam.
