i know right... what is wrong with our LB coach. doesnt seem like he can evaluate talent at the lb position at all. someone should let him and all the other mediocre players that he developed who btw are playing in the NFL, know about it.

Unfortunately, I think Roof does have final say over LB recruiting.

yes, I think we are done. Unless the unrealistic happens that PSU flips Johnson from Auburn, I think we are done.

Another thread chock full of fail. Lets pile more hate on Roof, who hasn't coached a down of football at Penn State, and for good measure lets throw his apparent pet project Walton under the bus and back over him a few times for good measure.

1)Roof is the D Coordinator he should have a say in the players recruited to play in his defense.

2)Vandy agreed to stay on at PSU knowing Roof was the D coordinator. Obviously he knew Roof would have input into recruiting.

3)No one knows with absolute certainty if the staff is slow playing Benton, Walton or both.
Just because the majority of persons on this site prefer Benton, it doesn't mean the staff does.

4)While Benton's film is exciting there is a LOT of work he needs to do before he can reach his potential. The film I've watched, although entertaining, consists primarily of him running into smaller kids at full speed and blowing them up. Walton's film is considerably less eye popping, but there are some good things on there.

Lets let things play out before we run Roof out of town. While I prefer Benton, because of his personal story and the intensity he plays with, his hesitation to pull the trigger might cost him a spot. I'm all for kids taking visits, especially if they haven't been anywhere, but the visits usually coincide w/trying to illicit offers. IMO he has the best offer he could hope to land. I'm not sure what visits to dead end programs like Maryland are going to accomplish except to muddy the water. If the two prospects are viewed generally equal and both have an offer its going to likely be first come first serve.

4 NFL starters, Conner, Poz, Lee, and Bowman. What do they have in common? All were very highly rated coming out of HS. Dont get me wrong, I LOVE Vandy, but it isnt like he is taking 2 and 3 star guys and consistently putting them in the league.

Doesn't fit the narrative, will be ignored.

Both around 6'3" and 210 and run in the 4.5 range. They have plenty of time to grow. I would imagine red shirts will be in order so that gives them 2 years.
