    Kind of sad to see the autograph session go away(even though it looks like they will still have one at some point), that was a real highlight when I was younger. It was always neat seeing the players up close and personal to get autographs.

  • Just once, I wish they would set it for 2-3... Extra booze time... lol I think more people would be there for the opening kick... Just sayin.

    Edit: And it would allow people coming from out of town to get there and get comfortable (if they have to come the day of)

    I always thought the games were at 2, this time apparently being different?

    What kids will be there for a training camp signing session? Only those who live right around SC. I agree, that's a bad move taking it away.

    Agree. The autograph session for the kids was a great tradition. It should remain at The Spring Game.
    Plus it may hurt attendence. Many families target The Spring Game because of the extreme cost of a regular game. Without the autographs the draw is lessened.

    I just hope we can get this on TV. I'm beyond amped to see some of the unknown commodities for the first time.

    I'm 90% sure it will be on TV either way. Too big of a name for the BTN not to have it on. I just want it live this year. But if we go head to head with OSU again we will, understandably, be put on delay and shown later. That sucked last year.

    Edit: Just checked and OSU's is on April 13th (awesome day, may I add) so we should be good to go. Michigan's is also the same date. Nebraska is the 6th, and the rest of the schools shouldn't bump us.

  • It sounds like to me that they might be planning a fan appreciation day. A lot of schools down here in the south do them, where the players separate into positional groups and people can get pictures/autographs. They're usually in early August down here.

    You know, I finally read what your losing sig bet letter actually says. The irony is that I bet the guy who made you post it doesn't even realize that it is still true. We weren't investigated, and weren't sanctioned for any NCAA infraction. These by their own admission. I would still display that proudly myself.

    Booze time is relatively useless on 420 IMO.

    Ha. Well I can't do that anymore... Boozing is great at the tailgates that are thrown though... And I still have friends that will have to go up Sat morning... Noon just sucks all around. But I will be there. My boys are FOS ppl though. I've been trying to convert them though...

    Overnight lots start no later than 6pm Friday....that's plenty of time to get a good buzz going...and lose a few hours worth of memories

    hahahah I guess. But we are big on actually partying at night and making memories. We start at like 7AMish, and rock hard til kick. Then drink a lil after the game, NAP around 6ish (always key), eat, and hit the night scene... Women matter biggrin And I have a cool girlfriend, and I have some single buddies (on the hunt). All love to drink at night.

I had friends that were going to tailgate but not for a noon scrimmage. 12 hours of drive time for an earlier game and not being able to take them on the field is a no thank you. I will watch on TV. A special thank you to whomever is killing another aspect that makes/made Penn State special.

    I honestly don't have a problem with the game time being pushed up to noon. That's fine. I'm a little disappointed that the autograph session was done away with. It was always the highlight of the day for most fans, especially the young ones. I don't understand why they can't keep the autograph session for the B/W game and then do something else in the summer as the article alludes to?

    I agree Josh. I was really looking forward to taking my 5 and 3 year old on the field to meet the players. Heck, I was thinking the possibility of shaking hands with some of the coaches and thanking them was going to be pretty cool this year. I took plenty of flack from my buddies of canceling the annual guys weekend at Blue/White because I wanted my boys to have the experience. It is a 6 hour drive 1 way for me without traffic so having the game moved up 2 hours with hurts planning and taking away the autographs removes a lot of what they would enjoy most.
    I just think this reeks of more culture killing and a total disregard of the fan base in general. The only thing that would make this palatable would be if O'Brien wanted it for some reason. I do not think that is the case here.

    If you're set on your kids getting autographs, you can still probably get them the same way you can after home games. Just wait outside the area the players exit, they'll be plenty of other people, and you should be able to see a good number of the players.
