BOB will narrow QB race from 3 to 2 by the end of spring

Isn't that what we're supposed to do on message boards?

Speculation is part of the fun but I personally can't draw any conclusions from these couple vague sentences.

  • Granted we all are reading a lot into BOB's very vague comments, but they seemed to favor PJ to me. As much as I think quality coaches like BOB and Fisher can help the QB's develop I'm not sure they can teach Bolden pocket presence and awareness which he severly lacks. That skill alone has me guessing that it will be a 2 horse race with MM and PJ and hopefully PJ gets the nod based on far superior physical tools and upside. MM is a quality back-up, nothing more.

You guys can sure draw a lot of firm conclusions from one sentence answers full of vague generalities.

So you're saying it is most likely PJ and McGloin, with PJ having the slight edge?

  • Know what I have a hard time doing (w/out reading into any comments at all).... seeing the silver lining in Bolden's game last year and finding the "Inner-Brady" in all of it. I can scarily see fragments of it in McGloin.... bottom line = Please PJ (or hell... BENCH?!) have some of that in ya?.... Hard to produce the "New England Offense" w/out a QB worth a damn.....

  • It doesn't take BOB to tell you that Bolden needs to take a hike. Every Penn State fan agonized every time he went back to pass. I have broken too many things in my house during games he qbs to tolerate him playing ever again for Dear Old State.

...and if you're not down with that, then I got 2 words for ya.."suck it!!"

I don't understand how they favor PJ whatsoever. In fact, if we're using this method, one could argue that BOB thinks PJ is stupid since he didn't describe him as 'bright' like the other two. The comments don't mean very much.

That is how I read and interpreted it, that MM/RB are ahead of PJ because they are grasping the offense better. I think some are reading what they want to read.

  • These comments are coach speak to the fullest. BoB definitely learned a few things from Belichick up in New England.

After some of the comments in this thread I actually went back and read what BoB said about them THREE times and how the Hell some of you guys got all that information out of those snipets is beyond me lol.

Those snipets personally tell me absolutely nothing except that Jones asks a lot of good questions.

Beyond that I think we're adding all of our own personal little biases to them.

I don't know how anybody can take anything form those comments.

Right, but the one thing I can take from all the interpretations here is that guys will see what they want to see in vague comments.

  • I just thought it was encouraging the BOB said PJ is showing flashes of being a "really good quarterback." To me that means he has shown the ability to execute the offense well at time vs just being a "bright guy" who undertands the offense or someone who is good in the huddle. I don't want to hear about being good in the huddle- I want to hear about quality execution and performance on the field. Agreed there isn't much to go on and this is probably what I want to believe.
